they will try to route the cable along the side of the garden with minimum disruption to ur paving blocks. If the have to they will lift the slabs to route the cable. When they come to install have a chat and find out what they will do. If unhappy then tell them that you dont want to install it.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems Well at least i learn something on the way Well at least i learn something on the way 0 0

Although they keep you waiting an annoyingly long time, my calls have always been free calls to an 0800 numberand the best part is everyone has a 0870 customer service number so you land up paying much more for the product
If you don't want to use 0870 or 0845 numbers try http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php, they list a whole load of 0800 numbers for NTL (as well as numbers for many other UK companies)Thanks to all who post constructively.

we have been paying £24.999 for the 1 meg which is now only £8.99. when i called for a speed upgrade or to tell them to lower our billsto that which others are paying they said we would have a four month wait for an upgrade. i since found out this lower price has been in place for four months now, and they made no attempt to contact us an inform us we were overpaying. I have asked them to refund the difference to our account, and theysaid no..and they will not put in the new price until we pay this months bill. as we pay a month in advance i am disgusted as it means we will be paying the extra money for yet another month before we get it for standard price.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0

I have just found Netmeter which I downloaded from http://readerror.gmxhome.de & it seems to work for my setup. I saw it in a post from "The_Vision" - thanks.wazza wrote:Had my installation booked for sat afternoon 12-6pm. Around 12-30 NTL guy turned up. After seeing where i want the BB point installed which is the back bedroom he got his stuff and installed the cable. Must say he has done a good job. Gave me clear instructions on how to install the software. Once installed i was up and away.
Good job NTL. Hope i will have troublefree service as i had with the dial-up service from NTL.
Only concern is how to check how much i am downloading each month. Any free software available?
Just noticed that you already have this possible solution from another post. Apologies - I can't see how to abort/ delete my reply now -oops !0
