Definately! Sounds like a plan!
Im free any dates really, and would be able to drive a couple of people up in my car, so Bath & Bristol people could book a seat with me when dates are finalised.
I got my car sticker today too, so the Green Machine slating banks will be me!

OK, had quite a few pm's so I'm getting an idea about dates.

I shall leave it a day or two before a decision is made. I'm afraid there will be people who will be unable to make it, but I will set a date and for those who can't make it, we'll do another meet later on, I'm sure.
If I don't set a date, or give everyone a selection of dates, then I'm afraid the meet will never happen. I've seen it happen on other boards where there has been endless discussions over dates and 'if x can't make it on that date, then I won't come'. So, if it's alright with everyone, I'll fix the most suitable date for the majority and let you all know.
Keep pm-ing me with your favourite dates and I'll post on here in due course when it's likely to be.0 -

Yep. It's really tough on people who can't make a particualr date - but since there's always somebody who can't make one date or a another it's best to pick a date that the greater number of people can do - otherwise, as you say, folks end up talking forever and nothing gets decided. I've seen this happen too.
You volunteered to organise, you are the sucker.. er, person, who is going to have to do some work to help this happen - so in my book - you get to decide when.
So if anybody gives you any serious grief just you point 'em at me and I'll... er... um... erm... have a word with them or something

No, I mean it
If you do get any serious hassle by all means refer them to me
But really, I don't actually expect that to happen. At all. We have a right good bunch here on MSE, so folks who can't make a given date are more likely to a) try harder to rearrange their things so they can make it, or b) sigh philosophically and promise themselves they'll try harder next time

In deedy Squeaky.
I'm off to start sorting out suitable dates. Any more out there who fancy joining us. I'm sure we won't spend all day and night estolling the virtues of breadmakers, slow cookers and vinegar. There may a tincture or two taken

Ok, so far I have had 13 replies, with 12 of them either stating a date or being flexible in a 'I'll come whenever you choose" or "whatever date, I'll be there if I can"
This date is 29th October. Sorry catznine
I've had a look for accommodation. The Travelodge site certainly has rooms available for £10 per night and if you want to be a complete moneysaver, then 2 can share
(It's OK, Martin, I'll share with ya

) There are only a limited number of Travelodges doing this offer. So, if you want cheap, then we are going to have to stay at the Moto service station on the M62!! However, there should be enough of us with cars to collect people from train stations and ferry to shops and restaurants.
I can't find anywhere cheaper - even the 18 bed hostel in the middle of Manchester want £14 per night each
Unless, as the saying goes - anyone out there knows any better?
What do you all think and do any more want to come along. I think these £10 rooms will go quickly, but the advantage of the M62 one is that there is a travelodge on each side of the road, so if one is full we could book in the other one.
Let me know.

Anywhere is fine by me, and luckily I dont drink, so I can be a 'des' for those who do want a drop or two, if we happen to be accommodated in an unusual location!
What about camping?? Im pretty sure that sites are really cheap per head, they have the necessary ablutions, caravans or tents can be brought, as well as barbecues etc.
Just a thought anyway. I only have a tiny tent, but maybe those of us coming on our own could share or something?? I dont mind anyway - Im definately coming!
