Anyhoo, today wasn't so bad...managed to get a fair old bit done actually. Phew!!

Still, going to have a productive work based weekend I think. Got a lesson obs on Monday so I'll need to sort that out and I have some exams still to mark! Yawn.

Had a lesson obs today and it didn't go all that well...the lesson was good but the kids weren't...wondering if I pitched it to high for them. Still, after I got rid of the worst one they all settled down really well. So I'm thinking perhaps I should just have got rid of him quicker. Grrr. I'll find out tomorrow during my feedback I guess.

Got home about 5.30pm, had tea, put a wash on which has just finished and needs hanging out. I'm exhuasted and still have loads to do! Gutted. Really tired as well.

    Hey Twinklie,
I'm sorry to hear about your obs, hopefully when you get your feedback it won't be as bad as you thought. OH has got his next one soon, they have been ok so far but you never know what the kids might do. At least things were better when he was out of the room, maybe they will be the sort of comments you will get.

Yeah, I've never had such poor behaviour during an observed lesson before....or from this group actually. Bit gutted if I'm honest...nevermind. I'm now more upset about my planning. I'm really struggling with the planning for yrs 10 and 11 at the mo. Still, trying to catch up on everything from before I was off. It's a bloody nightmare.

Post a list of what you need to get done and then we can help to keep you motivated. It can't be long until you get your Lake District break?? I remember wierd things sometimes :rotfl:

:rotfl: aj you do remember odd stuff! :rotfl:

I could do a list but right now I don't even know what that constists of. I might try and get one up in a bit...mean while I need to hand out my washing and figure out what I'm doing for my double lesson tomorrow. I've changed my mind about what I already had planned.

Don't worry about obs, sometimes good things come out of what seem like terrible things. I once had an awful class and had to move a student because of her behaviour whilst being observed, my tutor said he'd never seen such a bad group and he would have found it hard too!

I hope your feedback is constructive, it would be interesting to see if the observer would have handled it any other way. x

I would echo that. When I was NQT I had a really bad obs - didn't have any notice and had to adapt a lesson on the spot cause I didn't feel it was up to much, but I got fair feedback - even though I didn't do everything right, it was constructive, so hopefully that'll be what you get tommorrow.

I would agree with AJ make alist and then prioritise!! Good luck! x
