FYI - I used an offset mortgage to use my savings as a reduction in the capital interest. This also stops you tying all your money up in case of emergencies

Thanks Tyler. Paying off the mortgage is not my biggest priority right now, but we have our goals and we do stick to them. Just glad I didn't decide to push us too hard...even with everything thats going on in our life, we can still make our little OP's...therefore I don't feel like I've failed. In fact, I'm amazed we are still succeeding! :D

I also don't go out for meals, have take aways, smoke or drink (only once every holiday) and the only vino we have is presents that people have given us!!! We really are quite frugal! But thats because we are living apart I guess.

Right assignment is done FINALLY! Just need to print it out and post it off tomorrow - must remember to get prove of postage! I thought my next one was due in on the 6th May but it turns out I can had it in on the 7th September which I'm pretty chuffed about! :D

The car is going in tomorrow for 2 new tires (£240 for both) and new brake pads (£150), VAT and labour is included but it still is a small fortune. Unfortunately though, thats the price you pay for having a "newish" (2006) nice car. Still, it's so economical that I'm sure there is some sort of balancing factor somewhere.

DH is on a course all next week, so I'll be able to get lots of school stuff done hopefully (how sad is that). But I'll like to be on top of things when I get back so that I can sit back a bit and stop running round like a headless chicken.

Already though the nice weather has given me LOADS more energy. But I'm still snotty and horrible, throat is sore and I keep getting earache. Think I might have to go back to the doctors AGAIN!!!

Anyway, whilst I'm waiting for the car to get sorted tomorrow I'm planning on doing my reports and perhaps marking my coursework pieces as well. Thats one chunk of boring stuff done. And a bit of housework as well...yawn. Today however, it's all about rock climbing. I'm going to get back into it now DH is interested! :D

3 hours of bouldering later....I forgot how much I LOVE it. Really can't wait to get a harness so I can climb rather than boulder. I've been using the school ones whilst I've been instructing so I've not had my own. My hands hurt but I've had a fab time!! :D

Right, car is in the garage, kitchen is clean, washing is done...going to hang out in a minute. Recycling is out, bins done, posted assignment and put money in the bank.

Going to mark coursework and do reports later. What an exciting life I lead!! Ha ha

OMG....called the garage at 5pm to ask if the car was ready. Told they'd have to phone me back because they couldn't find the paperwork.

So they phoned me back to tell me that they haven't finished fixing it!!!! So that means I can't have it until tomorrow and I'm stuck home without DH because he went down to Wales and I was going to follow.

Apparently the brake calipers have seised on or something and they are struggling to get them off. So tires are done but not the brake pads! They offered me a car if I wanted it but I'm not going anywhere. So I asked for them to deliver the car to me. I live about a 45 mile round trip away from the garage.

    I'm well annoyed.

Considering we have money worries...to join the gym or not. I used to go all the time but I stopped when I moved abroad etc. And I've just not had the opportunity to since.

Most of my health problems of the last 12 months are because I'm unfit (cardio-wise). And after climbing yesterday I ache something chronic....I miss that. I don't have anyone friend wise who will exercise with me and it's not really safe for a tiny blonde young looking female to run round here on her own...not that I can run. Sooooo to gym or not to? I'd gladly go there alone.

Twink, if you are going to join a gym then probably better to join a council one that has a pool too and they are usually much cheaper. I'm just about to be start some work at a local gym as part of my new role at work so can use the gym for free but I'm lucky that I can go running safely round here.

It is the council one - I get a reduced corporate membership there because of teaching for the council. It would mean I can use the gym, climbing wall, swimming pool (but I won't) and sauna/steam rooms etc all in for £21 per month (£35 per month if I wasn't corporate).

Climbing wall is normally £4.70 per visit.
    Gym is £5.10 per visit.
