Hi BTM, hope everything's okay....
Very quiet around here?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I have been offline since Friday. Orange cut me off. I've just got AOL installed. I was going cold turkey last night. Bit of a hectic weekend. Had a great day on Saturday. Caught 3 for 10.30, then got soaked. Watched the Old Firm in the pub and generally had a Carlsberg Saturday.
I was working on Sunday morning. I was taking some guys to play golf when one of them spotted a man climbing the parapet of a bridge(funniily enough it is known locally as suicide bridge). I stopped and ran back down and shouted a bit at him. He was set for jumping, he was perched on a narrow bit of the safety fence. He sat there for about 30 seconds, then turned round and stared at me. Thankfully he put his leg back over and fell backwards. He then got up and ran off. I got one of the golfers to call the police as I was out on Saturday night and didn't want any fuss from them. If the golfer hadn't of seen him he would have been away. Guaranteed, he was set for jumping. You just know when you see something like that. Bit of a scary start to Sunday. Was out on Sunday as well. Had to go home early though.
Monday I had to take OH'S DD to hospital. That took all morning. In fact it took an hour and a half to drive there. A three hour wait, then an hour back again.
Anyway I had better shoot as I am just in for my lunch. Better get back to work.£2 coin/ £460 -
Hi BTM.
Well done on the jumper:beer:
Re Egypt.... Been there with my OH, She is blonde slim and tanned so its a bit like goin to Turkey. Didnt enjoy at all when we were in Luxor, hated it BUT when we upgraded and went to the red sea riviera "fort arebisque" it was fanmtastic, like a different country.
Sat my first class yesterday for the BTEC in taxiing, and before you ask yes it was a joke and no i didn't learn anything useful:mad:
Decided against the new car too, going to look at a 53 plate vectra diesel later, trying to stay out of debt if poss.
Glad you had a good days fishing. i had a 6lb 8 rainbow 2 weeks ago. In my chest freezer now, might have it tomorrow now Im thinking of it.
Glad to see you back mate, hope today is busy0 -

Good to see you are getting on. I would advise you to get as new as possible and with as low mileage as possible. You will have more repairs if you are going second hand. I have been down both routes and new and debt is by far easier and a cheaper in the long run way to go. You don't earn if your car is in the garage.
Nice fish. We had some of them on Sunday smoked. My mate does them. I wouldn't normally put a stocky bow in my mouth but smoked they are lovely.
Good luck with getting on the road any word of how long your plate will take?£2 coin/ £460 -

I was lost without the internet. I wonder what I did before it:eek: I certainly read a lot more.
Not had the best of weekends dfw wise. I finished at 10 on Friday night. I was knackered it wasn't that great and I knew I was up early on Saturday. Utter stupidity, but I had had enough and just wanted up the road.
Saturday was great but spoilt by the weather, I was absolutely soaked. The waves coming over the side as we tried to get back down to the jetty:eek:
I was lucky that the pub we watched the OF game in had a big open fire.
Sunday was an absolute shocker. All I did was tell him not to do it and don't make me see this. The boy who spotted him saved him not me I would say.
OH'S DD is a worry, it is her eyes and they aren't sure what is causing the problem. Hopefully time will sort it out but we are back up to hospital again on Monday.
DFW I have took my eye off the ball this past few days but am back firmly on track today. I just bt'd some money onto my new Egg Card. The £2 coins are coming on and I have a wee bit for the Credit Union tomorrow £25 to be precise. I am doing the next 3 Saturdays and am going to get my head down.
Hope you are keeping at it as well.£2 coin/ £460 -
Hi there just popped in to see how you're doing:p
Looks like you've been very busy, glad to hear "the jumper" didn't jump!
I've lost almost a stone since I started being a DFW now under 9 stone, only 5 2" it's definately cutting out the booze & takeaways that helps...................what a shame that everything you enjoy costs money & makes you fat:o
Good luck with the BTEC ITBS
By the way, you've all really "sold" Egypt to me:eek: :rotfl: My sister in law teaches belly dancing she goes all the time & loves it there, don't know whereabouts she goes, I think it's a bit like everywhere, some resorts are nicer or more to your taste than others, hope you enjoy it :TComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
Married my best friend 15/4/160 -
Hi BTM,
Last day of course for me next Thurs, then I have my certificate:j
The thing thats going to cause delays is the CRB check, which can take anything up to 6 weeks.
Updating my thread shortly (apologies for the shameless plug:rotfl: ) with all the details of the last few days.
Fully understand what you mean re buying second hand but I am only looking at one with a FSH and pref low owners. Also want one with leather seats as i've heard that a lot of people "relieve" themselves on the seats
This way if it goes belly up, I can always sell the car on with no HP. Once I've been doing it a year I will then buy a newer one.
Hope to be on the road at the latest second week in May.
Where bouts in Egypt you going?0 -
If your looking at just a year then go for it. I had a pi**** last Saturday afternoon. Couldn't believe it.
It isn't definite about Egypt. I'm sure that it had 3 words in the name of the place. I wasn't really listening to her tbh. I'll go where the other three want. I couldn't care less as long as the beer is cold and there are plenty of waiters to chat her up so I get a wink of peace.£2 coin/ £460 -
Does it happen that much with the "wetters" then?????
Taxi73 if you're reading this too have you or your hubby come across this too0
