Hi BTM ..at least you can relax a little more now you have the money for the fancy hut..hope your 3 hours went ok and enjoy the footie and a few pints.Yes still fine being off the cigs thanks...
    catch u later
  • Hi taxi73. Yesterday went ok £31. Basically paid for my beer:beer: last night. I was absolutely shattered last night. The 3 days caught up with me big time. Eight hours sleep in two days is not a good thing:eek:

I had the day off today. As it was Monday I was taking OH's DD to hospital. They are starting to get near to finding out what is up with her. To my shame I can't mind the name of the condition she has but it is a muscle wasting type of thing. She has to see a neurologist in the next week or two. I think she will be ok as you can treat it with steroids apparently. She was a bit upset but I managed to cheer her up a bit. With a bit of luck she will be back match fit in a few months.

When I was up there I was a bit dfw. Lidl had a stall in the foyer of the hospital. They were giving away free fruit. I got 3 bananas for nothing. I also got a £2.50 voucher off if I spent a tenner in Lidl's. As I had spotted a pair of binoculars in the leaflet I got through the door last week I went across and bought them. They were £12 but I got them for £9.50:j :j :j

I will use them when I am fishing. Very handy thing to have out in the boat.

Went to Tesco and my halo well and truely slipped. I bought beer  I am justifying drinking tonight because I worked so hard at the weekend:D

OH wasn't impressed:confused: For some unknown reason.

Going to bag up my change later and bag up the £2 coins as well.

Good to get a day off:cool:

It's good that you are getting nearer to finding out what's up with DDs eye...and if it's what they think it is then theres a cure.
Can't believe your OH got upset that you bought beer for tonight..it's cheaper than going to the pub AND you have been working extra hard to buy her a fancy hut...
I hope now that you do not work too hard as you have to have enough sleep to drive effectively..you'll be no good if you have an accident...well done on getting the binoculars and free fruit....enjoy the rest of the day off and chill out
  • Cheers mate. I am making a curry, going to sit on here all night. Watch the telly and generally get myself set up for tomorrow.

Were you out at your work today?

Your night sounds good...so enjoy it.
  • How many did you smoke a day?

Well, well done on staying off them.

Can I ask you about your work? Is it mainly locals or holidaymakers you pick up?

  • Yet another week is about to begin. I have a mild hangover/can't be bothered feeling this morning. I could have just lay in my bed there. I didn't though. It is icy outside as well. Kids are off school so it will be dead this morning. I can't wait.

Anyway that isn't the answer I had better get a shift on. Looking forward to a quiet night in tonight and watching the football. It's not all bad. Now where is that scraper.

    Hi BTM,
Know that feeling being the kids holidays and being quiet. In answer to your questions I smoked 40 a day and had smoked for 30 years!!!!...and I pick up mainly locals as we strive to be a locals only firm unlike other firms in Blackpool that target the holiday makers and then scream that they have no work in the winter. We do pick up some obviously as a few hotel owners use us and walk ups to the office.
What about you?...is yours mainly locals or holidaymakers...the worst thing about the job is sitting between jobs isn't it?
Hope you have a great day
  • I normally know 2/3's of the folk I pick up. It's a small place.

Nightmare day today. Reversed into a pick up truck. No damage to the truck but my passenger door is goosed. The wing mirror is knackered as well.

Tried the local scrappys. No chance. I've tried emailing find a part. I don't imagine I will hear anything until tomorrow.

I phoned Skoda and they want £232 for the door alone. Throw in the cost of the mirror and getting it painted and fitted, I might be as well claiming my insurance. My excess is £400. Need to wait and see.

It is workable though so I am still on the road. Need to wait and see tbh.
