    Gutted about the car mate.

have you tried autotrader? There are always breakers and insurance write offs in the back pages. I know yours is a newer model so you might have some luck here as its not the likes of F reg fiestas that are advertised, more like front end smashes, newer cars. Just a thought.

Fingers crossed you get it sorted cheaply anyway.
  • Cheapest way will likely be insurance but it is time wise that I need to consider. Loss of earnings will be the biggest consideration. If I can get it done in two days I will go down the insurance route. As I say it is not an off the road thing, the mirror being out of line is a pain but I can live with it.

I will speak to another panel beater tomorrow but it is the mirror that will be the dearest. That's what is making me think of just claiming the insurance for the easyness of it. Probably be cheaper in the long run as well.

  • Here we go again. I am about to go out and start. The first sight that will greet me is my dented door:mad: What a start to the day.

Beat the target by a pound yesterday which was quite surprising after how quiet it was in the morning. Can't see today being that great tbh. Better shift, it's hard to be motivated after what happened yesterday. It is only a bit of metal and no one was hurt which is the main thing. Life is annoying some days.

    Chin up mate,

Like you say could have been worse could have been people involved, blag compensation claims against you and hassle you could do without. Whats the quietest day on the taxis for you? Could you not get the parts for needed and have them fitted on this day to minimise your loss of earnings? Just a thought.......

Hey BTM, wanted to say hello.

Sorry to hear about the bash. what a nightmare!!

Well done on the bookies winnings though, had a bit of luck myself there. Got my free £25Betfair so one our picks was Comply or Die, netted £30, had also put another couple of quid of the free bet on Motherwell/Celtic, as you know my alligience is Celtic but the odds were like £0.75p back on £2 stake for Celtic to win. So i stuck £2 on Motherwell to win, (call it a hunch!!) and netted another £30!!! Kissed the league goodbye now!!!

Well done on saving for the hut though!!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

It will be longer than a day if I get the insurance to fix it. I will probably get the guy who has a repair shop next to my office to do it he quoted me £360 for it, but that is only repairing it. No new door or mirror. I am going to go to an insurance place tomorrow and see what they say, if they would replace or repair it. If I get it done by the place next to us I will only lose one day as I am off on a Monday anyway and it will take him two days. An insurance place could take a week.

Cheers mate. I went out this morning and the sun was shining right on it. Even I had to laugh at that:confused: :rotfl:

I am to used to everything running smoothly nowadays. doesn't take long to forget about the downs of this job.

Are you still off the smokes?

Bet you would rather have the £30 than a Celtic win. It took me nearly 20 years of following on to realise that Rangers and their fortunes didn't put money in my pocket. Still hope they win right enough but I won't lose any sleep if they don't. I'm working tomorrow night when the game is on, I will take my dinner break and watch the first half probably but I will go back out to work when it is still going on. Fifteen years ago I would have been in Lisbon right now along with the rest of my mates who are there. I have hardly gave it a second thought today.
