  • busy today mate,

I noticed on a earlier post you mentioned that you saved £1.85 on fuel by using the 5p Tesco voucher. Interesting to hear that you seemed pleased to obtain 40 Tesco Clubcard Points.

My reasonning is do you collect a fair number of Tesco CC points, as I'm sure you are aware you can use these for deals at 4 x value. But you could also sell them on ebay for roughly double their value, this would be hard cash and could go towards your cards. So if you got your quarterly mailing and had £40 on it, you could obtain £80ish off eBay. DON'T ever use your quarterly CC statment to use instore to buy your food. As a minimum sell them on eBay your money will stretch further and you will then get more food for your money.

Also make sure you have joined all the CC clubs, as these issue extra points, which sell well on eBay. The Baby club mailings can reach in excess of £20 each mailing, there are 4 clubs in total.

And nothing stopping you having more than one Clubcard.

As Tesco says "every little helps".

  • Well done for having your lightbulb moment, some moneysaving and you'll soon be paying extra off the cards and getting them clear.

I had to say well done on your user name though, how many times a day do you hear that?

Reminds me of Peter Kay and his sketch about that :rotfl:

When he tells the story of working in the supermarket and it gets involved in a hold up. And the robbers say Hold it mother snickers this is a f**k up to stuttering manager. Soooooooooooooooooooo funny:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Well here go's 30 hours in two days. I am sitting here just now and the thought of it is sould destroying. Need to get motivated. I am off on Monday and going fishing as the season starts tomorrow. This is the only thing that will get me through it. I have a lot to pay yet this week so hopefully I will be busy. I wish it was 3 O'Clock on Sunday morning.

Hi from another scot, just read thru your thread and wanted to say you are doing great.

So glad to hear things are going well on the debt busting/spending less as you go front. not easy i bet.

You'll soon have those debts kicked into touch and a new frame of mind going forward.

I'd love a job where you are able to make more as needs must, my brother is a taxi driver and I think he works along the same lines as your new regime, as much as possible when required. My dad (RIP) was a taxi driver, never for himself, and never maximised the work when it was there. He always stopped when he had enough to pay his fees and 4 cans of export and a half bottle. You've got the right idea in taking it while it's there as no doubt there will be days when you can't magic punters out of thin air!!!

Re the OH, hope the penny drops with her soon!

I'm subscribing to your diary and will read with interest.

I was thinking about this about 8 O'Clock tonight when it was dead. This time last year I would have went to the pub without a second thought. I persevered and ended up getting a right good turn for the day. I would probably have only have half of what I would have made if I had went though. Thanks for the encouragement:cool:

Well that's Friday done. Now if I can get Saturday out of the road, Sunday will be a penalty kick.

I will have made my target for the bank and paid my big credit card bill on time. Also the phone bill and an outstanding dentist bill. Just need to do another 15 hour shift tomorrow:eek:

Then it is a wee easy 4 hours on Sunday then a well deserved:beer:
