I am in love with my Panasonic breadmaker

I think resting allows all the ingredients to come to the same temperature. I bought a 255 on Thursday too to replace my 253. Made the rye bread which is very dense and quite salty!0

I'm so excited - first loaf is baking now in my new SD254 (I know, I'm sad
). I've gone for the Italian Ciabatta to go with tonight's pasta.
Off to Asda now to look for golden syrup and black treacle - and doves wholemeal flour thanks to this thread.
Big thanks again to Pipkin x
Edit: Got the last 3 bags of Doves in my local Asdasome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
:heartpuls I love my Panny
My fruit loaf is beautiful....I used half Asda strong bread flour mixed with half Asda value 26p flour and it's lovely....except I just managed to cut two slices that I failed to notice were huge at the bottom so I've made quite a mess of my loaf....might have to make another onePiglet

and Asda used to do the Hovis bread mix at 2 for £1, don't know if that offer is still on, but it included white, granary and wholemeal
It was still on yesterday [Friday]
Noticed the Hovis wholemeal on offer at 51p so got one whilst I was at it
The Asda owm strong white is 75p, but as the other bread flours are on offer I guess as another poster said they are upping the price ready to have amazing "reductions" soonGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
I bought a panny!!!!
I did have a MR fastbake but wasn't happy with the bread, so I bought a SD 254.
Currently it's on now, so will check back later and let you know how it turns out.0 -
Good luck arkonite babe, my first two attempts have both been great!Piglet

Right, advice please guys
SD254 or SD255? I've saved up my Argos vouchers ... what is the difference between the 2? Can I put seeds into the SD254? Is the SD255 worth the extra £20?? Thanks! That's Numberwang!0 -
Before you set your heart on the SD255, do check that you can get one! Lots of places were out of stock last week when I looked (including all our local Argos stores).
I think the only difference is the automatic seed/raisin dispenser on the 255 and I guess that depends on whether you are likely to use it and/or whether you will be in to put seeds/raisins in when the machine beeps otherwise?
We usually run our BM overnight or when we are out so the dispenser seemed useful and I hope to keep this thing for a good few years so hopefully the extra cost won't be very much over time!Piglet

All I can say is wow wow and wow!!!!! :j:j:j
Bread is soooo good from the panny. I couldn't wait until it cooled and the rest of our house is in agreement. Big thumbs up from us.
My old MR is going to a good ome tomorrow, I freecycled it. It didn't cost me anything, so I don't mind giving it away.
Lets hope the rest of my bread turns out as good. I wasn't sure the panny wasworking at first as I didn't realise it rested at he start of the cycle. I had it off and on a few times, poked and prodded round it, hen I read the book.
Off to read the rest of the panny thread nowfor hints and tips0
