Can someone please send a chap round so that I can feel what firm flesh is like? LOL"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I did try to think of a better way to put it, honest
EDIT ... actually, it feels more like a firm natural breast then say, hard muscle ... I'm digging a hole for myself here, aren't I

Swan.. I do the same.. I also.. start mine on one cycle to mix the dough thoroughly and them stop it and put it on a different cycle to cook.. works for us!
My banana loaves always come out like a doorstop and my chocolate bread takes over the planet it grows so huge.. I also sling raisins/cranberries or other dried fruits in and serve it with custard!
I'd be tempted to mix it in the BM and try cooking it in the oven..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'm most likely to do the stopping & re-starting with very dense wholemeal mixes, gives it a bit of extra lift
bananas, now there's a thing, I've got a glut of over-ripe ones so that was a very timely reminder :T0 -

Someone on the Grabbit board said Hovis flours are half price at Asda.
No good for me but may help someone else.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

and Asda used to do the Hovis bread mix at 2 for £1, don't know if that offer is still on, but it included white, granary and wholemeal0

I can fully appreciate why people are so passionate about their Panny now:D
I've made all sizes of basic white, had one experiment with a wholemeal & did my first rapid basic white yesterday afternoon. I'd like to try other recipes, but think I need the offspring to move out for a couple of days so I get the chance:p
Akmost had a revolution on my hands when I asked them about going back to shop-bought, so it must be doing something right. Only niggle thus far has been the tuna & cue filling made the bread soggy, but it still got eaten so couldn't have been that bad..but perhaps I'll butter both bits next time.
Meant to say thanks for the info on Asda, but unfortunately our closest stores are still an hour's drive away dang-nabbit!Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I've become a member of the Panny lovers club! :T I bought my SD255 on Thursday, made a simple white loaf overnight which was great, I've now been to Asda and stocked up on flour and mixed fruit and I now have a fruit loaf in and cooking at the moment! I had to do the white version as I couldn't bear to wait five hours for the wholemeal one!
One question about the Panisonic (or maybe breadmakers in general?), why is the first section of the time a "rest"? I'm worried I should have mixed stuff together rather than just bunging it in if it was going to rest? Maybe my old BM did this but I only ever used it overnight on timer!
For flour I've taken advice from MSE and used a mix of bread flour and cheap ordinary flour, if you go to Asda though look out for the 55p Doves Farm Organic Wholemeal in the organic flour section - well don't at Cribs Causeway, Bristol as I've just bought the last four!Piglet
