I think he wants you to post the recipe
I occassionally use marg insted of butter if I don't have butter but often find the end product is a touch dry if it is a low fat spread because they have a high water content and a low fat content. You could try adding some oil instead?
For gingerbread cakes I try to leave it in an airtight tin for a couple of days to help it soften up.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

I think it probably is the spread you're using, low fat spreads tend not to be brilliant for baking, because, as celyn says, they have a high water content.
Stork lasts for ages and is better for baking than low fat spread, or alternatively you can freeze butter, maybe you could buy a block just for the ginger cake? Or, I've had good results using sunflower spread instead of butter, especially in 'all-in-one' recipes.0 -
Gingerbread, parkin, fruitcakes all benefit from at least a few days wait before eating, The sugar in the cake takes in moisture from the atmosphere I think."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

on the Wrights site it says they have tested all the recipes with certain breadmakers - Panasonic is one of the breadmakers they list as having tested, so they should all work fine, gonna try some at the weekend0 -

oh cool  :T
eta: Just looked at the site. Don't mean to sound thick but the recipies are detailed as if you would make them by hand and not machine. Do I assume that I just add the ingredients to the pan or is there a link I've missed for BM recipies?0
