Bread is soooo good from the panny. I couldn't wait until it cooled and the rest of our house is in agreement. Big thumbs up from us.
My old MR is going to a good ome tomorrow, I freecycled it. It didn't cost me anything, so I don't mind giving it away.
Lets hope the rest of my bread turns out as good. I wasn't sure the panny wasworking at first as I didn't realise it rested at he start of the cycle. I had it off and on a few times, poked and prodded round it, hen I read the book.
Off to read the rest of the panny thread nowfor hints and tips
I had a similar panic about the machine resting! :rotfl:Piglet

Well loaf number 2 is on the timer for the morning. I'm trying a sandwich loaf to let my Mum try it. She has a Kenwood BM and it was really good. That's what prompted me to buy a MR BM, I really wish now I'd bought the panny at the start. In saying that though, I probably wouldn't have got it for the price I did.
Fingers crossed for the morning0 -
Eek!
I meant to put the BM on time last night and forgot!
Will have to be a 2 hour rapid bake now and hope nobody wants toast for brekkie!
Best get off here then!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

My 50/50 wholemeal loaf has finished this morning, it tastes lovely but it hasn't risen as well as the 100% white and the white fruit loaf.
I'm using a mix of bread flour and Asda smart price flour, the wholemeal loaf was 50% wholemeal bread flour and 50% cheap white. Is it a feature of wholemeal bread that it doesn't rise as much anyway or is the cheap white not strong enough with the wholemeal?
The loaf is fine as it is but I'm curious...Piglet

My w/m mix also doesnt rise as much. I think it's to do with the gluten in the flour- both wm and cheap white dont have much gluten (I think
lol). I would use some srtong white in the w/m mix. I like brown flour, works well, but prob not as healthy as w/m.:o

Right, advice please guys
SD254 or SD255? I've saved up my Argos vouchers ... what is the difference between the 2? Can I put seeds into the SD254? Is the SD255 worth the extra £20?? Thanks!0 -

Thanks chmmy, next time I make one I'll try the strong white with the wholemeal and see what difference it makes, the bread is really nice the slices are just a bit small. Having said that with the price of bread flour at the moment against value flour I'm not that worried!
I've now got a raisin dough in the Panny to make fruit rolls - at this rate we're going to be eating only bread for the next week! :rotfl:Piglet

I've just taken a Lidl 50/50 strong white / Hovis w/meal out of my Panny, and it is small, which is odd as I have made these before with excellent results
The white Lidl works fine on it's own
Maybe the Hovis w/m has changed flour origin? Bought it Friday in Asda reduced, could be why it was reduced
Never mind, it will get eatenEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
