Thats fine thank you. It's just the Pan. website said it didn't have the timer and I can live without the dispenser. many thanks!0

Panasonic website has a more detailed section here: http://panasonic.co.jp/appliance/global/products/bread_bakery/product.htmlLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

I use the 254 timer quite a lot. You need to remeber to keep the yeast dry though when using thsi feature.0

I've just got my Pan. bread maker and it's on it's first loaf (fingers crossed).
I just wanted to check a couple of things with those of you who have one:
1. the bread pan doesn't fit tightly into the machine when you "turn" it into place - is that correct? Quite a lose fit.
2. Whilst the machine is kneeding the ingredients, I can hear movement inside the machine - like the pan is moving slightly - again, is this ok?
Just wanted to check in case I needed to take it back.
Thanks.
Hmmm, just read under the troubleshoot section that the kneading blade rattles and is normal - perhaps this is what I can hear?0 -
hi jenny - yes i can confirm that the above is normal as mine does the same and always has lol.0

thank you. just waiting for my first loaf to come out. 5 hours - phew - perhaps I'll try the rapid bake next time0

Hi JennyW
as specsappeal said, this is quite normal, the pan fits pretty loosely, and does move a bit in the kneading process, hope your bread turns out great, you will soon love your Panny, like all us (slightly sad) guys on here do0 -
Hi Jenny,
I've added your posts to the panasonic thread where you should get lots of help.

Do you all use the 5 hour bake time for bread? It just seems just a long time doesn't it? I appreciate that it rests/kneads etc and only bakes for 50 minutes. Apart from the fastbake, I assume this is the way to go.
If it's on for 5 hours, is it still economical to run? I appreciate it will use most of the electric on the bake cycle for 50 minutes but I assume it will use some power when it's maintaining the temperature during resting/kneading?
It's 550W and my elec is 12.89 per unit and if it's on for 5 hours anyone know how much it is costing to bake my bread?0 -
Sounds like a long time to me.
Mine takes about 3 mins to mix, 4 mins to knead, 2 hours to rise, 3 mins to punch down and put in tins, 40 mins to prove and 40 mins to bake. 3 and a half hoursand that makes 4 loaves at a time.
