I am in love with my Panasonic breadmaker

This is what I get when I am baking my loaves lately. I am using doves breadmakers yeast - orange box and either lidl or tesco value flour. I used to use this combination with no problems. Could it be any of the following factors: 1. I leave it on timer overnight and it is usually done a half an hour before I open the bm. 2. I am using olive oil instead of butter. 3. I have started freezing my flour when I buy it so that it won't get those weevil things in it. Could freezing the flour stop the gluten? 4. the tap water here is quite cold at the moment. The flour is at room temp. before using it.
p.s. this is my first time to post a photo, but how do you get the actual picture to appear rather than the link?Penny xxx

Below is the most useful link regarding the 1 in a million dodgy loaf from a Panasonic bread makers!!

Hope it helps!!Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
I have a confession to make............
*hides behind a cushion*
My brand new shiny panny 254 remains in the box unopened, from when it was delivered last Tuesday *runs behind the sofa*
In my defence, it came late that afternoon when I was up to my elbows in baking & had Pup's training that evening; took me muvva shopping on the Weds & had to leave meals ready to be reheated for the offspring cuz I was away from Thurs-Tues:o Since I've been home, the thought of actually using my Golden Grail has been weighing heavily----you all so cherish the Mighty Panny & I don't want to sully that by making a boo-boo:p
OK
today

HAve succumbed and ordered a panny 255 - just wont be delivered until 5/4/ as Out of stock at the mo and waiting for new ones to arrive!! I hope its as good as you all say as to be quite honest im not impressed with the bread i make in my MILs old breville BM she gave me and am thinking of going back to shop bread (hangs head in shame) so the panny might just stop me doing that."With no money you start to discover your own inner resource" GK Chesterton2 adults, 3 children0

hi mhe - i think you will love your panny and particularly the fab bread it makes, I have had two bread makers before, and the panny is streets ahead in what it makes, am certain you will find it a worthwhile investment, I haven't bought bread for over 4 months now, since I bought my panny!
enjoy!!!0 -
Update: I used warm water from kettle with cold and the white sandwich recipe today and everything was ok again. Success! 1st loaf demolished and 2nd baking away in bm as I type.Penny xxx

I made a loaf as a gift for my Aunt today, as we were meeting up for a family lunch - it was just one of those packet sundried tomato and parmesan ones, I baked it on timer overnight so that it was nice and fresh, then took it out of the panny this morning, wrapped it in some nice tissue paper (like real bakers used to do) - she was thrilled to bits .... I have to say it did look good, nice dark crust, think thats cos I did it on timer and left it to cool in the machine (so still hot, and cooking a nice crisp crust) - if i'm honest it's 'cos i forgot about the clocks going forward when i set the timer, but a good lesson as it gave a really dark bakers shop finish to the loaf - will be making myself one the same way tomorrow0

I'm reading conflicting reports. Amazon says it has a 13 hour delay timer but the Panasonic website says "no" next the timer option
anyone out there with the 254 who could check please? Thank you
I did want the SD255 but they are out of stock everywhere with a 2 month lead time so now considering the 254 instead. Is it just as good?0 -
The 254 has a 13 hour timer.
All Panasonic bread makers bake a perfect loaf, the SD255 and the SD-253 has a nut dispenser. It's upto you to decide if you want that function.Lets get this straight. Hi,
I have the 254 and it does have a delay timer, and bakes as good a loaf as the 255but doesn't have the raisin/nut/seed dispenser or another blade for rye bread (I think the 255 does).
