Did you select the raisin bake mode? If this mode is selected then it should automatically drop the seeds in.

OK, first of all if you want to produce loaves with pretty patterns of seed on top then the panasonic will not do that unless you are clever/daring enough to open the machine at the right time and sprinkle them on
If you want to mix seeds, etc into your bread you must select one of the "raisin, bake" programmes - ie you must tell the machine you've got stuff to add in part way through the process - it is just a machine after all

reading the instructions....no one's ever that old0 -
Last night the BM arrived early. We were so excited we had to open it in the middle of making dinner. :j
I had got the wholewheat strong flour, but no Vit C so I mixed it 50% with SR white flour.
Followed the recipe for wholewheat 50/50 in all other respects though, and set it for the 5 hour bake.
This morning the bread was ready and I turned it out and let it cool. It was well risen and when I cut it the bread was dense and even. the paddle left only a small hole in the base.
I like the middle size of loaf that i made - just the right size for our toaster.
Taste was a little bland - needs a little more salt for my taste.
I think I will try the 5 seed loaf next as i love the granary style best of the bought breads.0 -
Hi Patricia
Congratulations! Have lots of fun with your BM. There are some great books you can buy too, I recommend Jennie Shapter's "bread Machines & Beyond" - or anything by Jannie Shapter actually. Very cheap on Amazon.
I'm sure someone posted something about a bargain Jennie Shapter book a little while ago, I'll see if I can find it...
Edited to Add: sorry, I can't find it. Someone found one of her books (which weas actually two books in one) half price in WH Smiths (or similar).0 -
Hi Patricia,
It feels great when you make your first loaf doesn't it! We have a thread specifically for Panasonic breadmakers where you should find lots of hints and tips on using your machine so I'll merge your thread with it.
As always you'll need to read the thread from the start to see all the replies.

I have the MR fastbake although I haven't used the fast bake thing but every loaf has been FAB!!! Light and airy...the overnight thing has never let me down and the raisin bread is to die for....no dispenser...just bung things in when it beeps.....Watch through the window which I do fequently much to the amusement of my hubby...and lo and behold!! Easy to get out of the tin and so easy to clean its unreal. Love it.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
