Welcome to the board pariskate, it's for anyone giving up or trying to and so far a LOT are doing just great. You sound as though you'd love to and know you'd be a lot better for it when you do, so all good wishes for you doing so!

No alcohol since Mothers day...Yippee.
Bit scared about weekend coming though, but hopefully I will be OK.... if DH hides his whisky.lol.

Morning all! Had a dire day in work and had 2 glasses of red but did manage to leave the bottle 1/2 full which is a major achievement for me. Have woken up with a migraine which I suspect is a result of a stressful day but thankfully have a day off today! If migraine lifts will try for a run!
Well done for those who've abstained, not spent & EXCERCISED -VERY impressive!! Sue dont hold your breath me lovely! I'm going for a cutting down rather than cutting out!!

Hi can i join this too? Am at work and painfully regretting the bottle and a half of rose i had last night! Why di i do it.....i always regret it.... Need to stop drinking at home,thats the problem...But i hardly go out.Really hope i can do this.Anyone got any tips???:beer:

Morning Folks

I did really well yesterday, no alcohol day for me :beer: LOL

After work I did a load of cleaning/washing and then I had a bath and read my book and instead of the usual large glass of wine/can of cider I take with me I had a pint of low cal tonic water :T I actually quite enjoyed it too!

Now it's Friday today, can I make it through this eve with out a drink I ask myself? we have oh's parents coming for lunch tomorrow so I am really going to try and not have any, can't be doing lunch with a hangover :rolleyes:

I am having some tomorrow night anyway, not cutting out just cutting back:D

Mollypolly you should be absolutely ecstatic about how far you've come. I hope you're so very proud of yourself because I certainly am!!!:T All the very best of luck for the weekend though I have a sneaky feeling you're out to WIN the race!!

shopaholictiedtheknot and In Search Of Me, not to worry about the cutting back as that's far better than NOT doing so! Just a thought In Search Of Me could it have been the red that gave you the migraine rather than your day at work? Only you knw the answer to that, but I do know red's capable of giving bad heads and migraines. Good luck with the run!

Hi chickchick and a warm welcome to the Forum and this thread.

It sounds as though you could benefit by seeing your Doctor to see what help and advice he has to give, but have you considered going to your local AA? I'm fairly sure you'd greatly benefit if you went there as there are so many who can support you and who will know exactly what you're going through. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose!

For the weekend, try limiting yourself to as little as possible and see how you go, that way at least you won't have those awful regrets next day. All the VERY best of luck and keep with us as you'll get plenty of support here....and never judge!

Morning all, Yes sue suspect you may be right! Finshed the bottle last night and have woken with another migraine! THis is incrediby annoying as if t doesent go will mean that I have wasted another day because I wont be able to do much. My neck and shoulders are very tight and that may also be a contributing factor so will see if I can get an acupuncture session today (I have one last treatment which I've been saving!!)...
Anyway a non alch day for me today. Sat is aways hard as you feel you deserved the treat dont you!! WIll get a bottle of shloer or sommat instead!
