hi ladies and gents (BHB!)
good luck for tonight.
its made me laugh reading the posts about baileys - but winebox i have NEVER come accross baileys and scotch before (and i ve done my research.....) that must be lethal!!!
does anyone drink baileys at any other time of year? the other year on xmas eve me and my ex had an almighty barny and he stormed out so i sat at home in tears and drank 3/4's of a bottle of caramel baileys to myself (and it was wrapped up for someone else!!!!). i felt SO ill the next day and i had everyone round of xmas dinner. it was the vilest hangover i think i ve ever had, like cream swilling around in my tummy all day. so thank god thats put me off! but comes out every year like the decorations!
have a clear night and remember MP is watching she will get her leather on and her whip out....!!

I am struggling big time and desperately need to get a day 1 out of the way, the shakes have returned, I feel run down and carp all the time now, memory has gone, all the usual symptoms, depression etc....
I feel I need to be locked up somewhere to stop me getting to the booze but am too scared to actually go in to detox cos of the implications on the family/xmas/work etc. etc.
Perhaps rehab wouldn't be a bad idea. I know it is close to Christmas, but you are really struggling at the moment, and an intensive week or month of it would do you the world of good.
In my experience, employers/friends/family all rally around while someone is getting help. They know your implications and actions are good, so are willing to help.
Being honest to people is the best policy - If you said "My life is falling apart, alcohol is costing me much more than money, and I need to get help as I cannot help myself" I am sure people would be supportive.
Think about the oxygen mask analogy. Plane de-pressurises at 30,000 ft. To do the best thing by your kids, you need to get that mask on yourself first, and then put it on them. Then you will both be ok. If you try and help others first, you will suffer, and ultimately, so will they.
The symptom of alcoholism is relapse, and it sounds like you are having a few days alcohol free (which is great) and then drinking again, i.e. frequent relapse.
I was great at stopping drinking, I just couldn't stay stopped. It seems that you may have that same characteristic.
I am sure your family would prefer a happy healthy jo1972 around for the rest of their lives, even if it meant missing Christmas.
Good luck, whatever you decide.0 -
did Baileys and vodka once or twice....
Baileys in itself was so more-ish but made me feel bloated and ill anyway...yet was really addictive.....
now I just think yuk and "be careful"For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
