Well done Bis- 18 months down the line and you still find the time to check in on us all and offer nuggets of wisdom- thank you so much. 18 months-what an achievement and how brilliant for your family to get you back and enjoy that time with you too, it just gets better and better doesn't it? Take care everyone.
  • well done bis - really chuffed for you. xx Hi to all - being an AFmuskahound tonight, happy for anyone to join me for the ride x

    spooky quiet.....
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007
  • Lost yesterday's struggle. Broke the diet at lunch and then had a bottle of wine in a kind of it's ruined now anyway moment.

And have woken up at 4am with a headache feeling rough. Another piece of evidence that it's the wine feeding my insomnia. Hope everyone else had a good night.

Bismarck, thanks for your encouraging post - 18 months seems unimaginable where I am now - Well done!!

Wannabe- all not lost, that was yesterday and you have the whole of today to look forward to being AF- best of luck with it.

Know what you mean about seeming impossible Bis, I think the fear of stopping drinking is worse than actually doing it...when you stop its like a bereavement, its like a huge part of your life has gone, and you have to face a brave new world without an old friend who was always there to take the edge off, but as I know now it wasn't a comfy old friend at all, not towards the end anyway.
  • Hello all
I hope you don't mind me joining in on this thread. I've been following it for a while and am impressed with the way you all approach the whole giving up / cutting down thing.
I know I've had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol for quite a few years.
Last weekend I overdid it and have felt poorly since. So have decided enough is enough. Haven't had a drink since Monday and intend to keep it that way (with your help!). I don't want my little boy to end up with an alcoholic mummy!
    Thanks
    Miss P
    xx

This just hits the nail square on the head for me Eselt, I feel like my life will be boring without alcohol, like it is something I NEED in order to enjoy my life and I KNOW that is a really sad thing - all I need now is to try and change my attitude - which will be easier said than done as I well know:o

I was AF muskahound yesterday and am going down the same route today - Fay -count me in! Have a meeting at DD school this evening about her skiing trip so won't be home till after seven so that should help!

Bis - CONGRATS on your 18 months!!!!

Miss P - welcome and good luck on your journey!

    Good luck today peeps!:T
