I hope you don't mind me joining in on this thread. I've been following it for a while and am impressed with the way you all approach the whole giving up / cutting down thing.
I know I've had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol for quite a few years.
Last weekend I overdid it and have felt poorly since. So have decided enough is enough. Haven't had a drink since Monday and intend to keep it that way (with your help!). I don't want my little boy to end up with an alcoholic mummy!
Thanks
Miss P

Mornin' all.
Miss P see you're in Swindon....I'm near Chippenham we're neighbours!
Am being a bit rubbish this week but not total carp......am on red wine not white, & am still on the box (aaah, my namesake) I opened last Friday - there's even some left after 4 evenings, whereas a box of white would be gone after 2.......so at least I'm having a lot less than usual at home. It's odd but I think it's partly due to the decision this week (complete opposite to what I said Monday) that I just can't be AF at the mo, & that's sort of taken the pressure off & removed the "OK just one more binge & THEN I'll stop" mentality......I should still be having AF days, I know, but at least I'm out of the binge-every-day-rut (it's those black lips after too much red wine - most offputting!).
Saw Dad yesterday in the hosp, & also saw a real doctor for once, but when I mentioned that my sister's flying over from SA on Boxing Day he grimaced & said can't she bring that forward...so they obviously don't expect him to make it that far & that's making things very hard, but I'm not going to mention it again, just trying to explain why I'm not feeling too strong on the AF front at the mo.
Lots of anniversaries on here! Bis 18 months, Eselt a year, MP 9 months....:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
And to anyone who manages a single day...:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
Hope you're all where you want to be today. The sun is shining on N Wilts.0 -
Quick hello to you all as I run by - Eselt your post about the fear of giving up being worse than giving up really struck a chord with me - I shall cogitate on that - thanks.
Miss P, welcome, well done and hope to see you around - children are such a big motivator aren't they. i don't ant them to grow up thinking that getting sloshed is a normal daily activity. Luckily where we live has a very different atitude to drink and young people getting sloshed is much less accepted.
off to lunch, see you all later....0 -
