hubby and I are going for a curry tonight, he will be driving - so the dilemma is..... do I have a drink or do I try to go for my 5th night without alcohol?
  • Hi everyone,

Lots of positive vibes on here over the last 24 hours:T

I am on my countdown to abstinence! OH and I had a discussion yesterday and decided that we are quitting completely until we go to the Leeds German Market which normally starts mid-December, we go every year and love the gluwein they serve there!!

He has been reading up on the effects of alchol on trying to conceive, both for women and for men and it is not good!!

Anyway, we are having a 'last blowout' tomorrow and treating ourselves to a day out - not sure where yet, but then that is it!! I am strangely looking forward to the challenge, I think I can do it, with the support of you all and with him doing it with me!!

Bismarck - loving the fame quote!!:D
  • i hate fridays its been my "allowed" wine night for years now. got crisps, oranges, hot choc, diet coke and a pile of gossip mags lined up to distract me -hope there is something good on tv!!
    xxx

I decided a couple of months ago to try and just allow myself a drink once or twice a week but somehow there is always some alcohol left over which creeps into the next night and so on:o

Hard one - I would be sure to have a drink  Do you drive? if so you could volunteer instead and then would be reason not to?

I don't drive his car (I drive autos and his is manual) - I think I will have orange and lemonade and a 'traditional' half a lager with the meal !

    thanks !
  • Good on you! good luck and hope you enjoy the meal, I am making prawn curry for dinner :D

don't worry, I won't ....but feeling edgy as the fallout from the past will take years to fix and it's like a permanent albatross around my neck.

some days the weight feels heavier than others and today's one of those days.....I hope everyone's having a good day to make up for my visiting black dog.
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

eugghh I think its an all round bad day today bismarck. i ve been thinking about a cold glass of wine all day. just the one...NO!! I control the drink the drink - it does not control me (this is what i have been telling myself anyway).
i cant beleive how much i have turned to wine when something bad or stressful happens. the more i abstain the more i realise how much of a problem i had/have.
i bet robbie w has days like this, i think he should join the forum - or maybe he already has - just think we wouldnt even know! its not you is it bismarck!!!
    stay strong:A
