Lurky, I'm presuming as you're singing the Boo Radleys at some unearthly hour you abstained last night? If so, well done
Ali, you're doing great, how did you do last night?
YM, what's 'hi' all about, how you doing?
What a horrible night I had last night, I got it into my head that I'd drink. I decided that I was gonna say to OH that I was drinking that evening, we were gonna watch a film and have a nice dinner so thought I'd have a can or 2. I had decided to tell him I was having 2 but I was gonna buy 4
I told him and he said I couldn't, told me that I obviously had a problem if I've only lasted 17 days, he reminded me that I'd told him I was never gonna do it again and I'm caving already etc etc.... I got quite irritated and aggressive and just wanted to run over the shop and pour a can down my neck. He then said, go on then, get beer and I'll just sit here and watch you drink all night. I was well p1ssed off....irritated cos I knew I couldn't do it now cos he'd be making comments.
I managed to get through the evening okay'ish and then laid in bed and was so grateful that I didn't drink. I imagined how worried I'd be if it was the other way round and he had decided 'just to have 2' and I would've said the same stuff to him.
God, what am I going to do for the rest of my life
I did! And I'm quite proud! Was tempted to have 2, then call it a blip and start again, but didn't in the end!!! :j :j
Awww jo :grouphug: sounds like you went through it, hun. Can you talk to him in a calm moment and say that despite the fact that YOU may get aggressive, what you need back is support and encouragement?
Well done, though. I think I would have caved..... :T :T :T :T :T :TNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Morning all. How are you all doing today?
Jo, well done on not giving in yesterday. Any idea why you decided you were going to drink (other than it's b***** hard not to, of course)?
I know what you mean about what are you going to do for the rest of your life. I keep thinking that as well. I'm trying just to believe that my life will be better than if I was drinking, sometimes I think it will be better for having had the experience and having given up (hey, I said it:T :T  !!). Most of the time now I believe it but in a crisis I just have to cling on to that thought even though it doesn't seem true at the time.
As you've probably gathered I'm good again today and now on day 11. I think that this is probably the longest time I've had now without booze in about 30 years:eek: .
What are you all doing today? I've got a nice roast in and am just going to pick up my NOTW (£5 coupon :money: ), then walk the dog and try to get back before it p**** down.
Hugs to those who need it. Ali x.
PS Molly how did you do at the wedding yesterday?£2 savers club no.107 :j £36 so far.0 -
TBH, it wouldn't of mattered whether he said what he did, or if he was supportive and encouraging, I would've still have made that decision in my head and would've still got shirty when I knew I could no longer do it and the fact that maybe that someone else is right and I'm not
You are doing great, well doneDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Well done Ali, blimey roast in already,I've not had breakfast yet  :rotfl:
I've have an amazingly exciting day planned, I'm going to the dump now with all the carp out of my shed, then I'm dropping DD1 to work, then Tesco, then launderette with the duvets, then home to cook a roast, boy things just don't get better :rotfl:
Have a good day everyoneDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Morning Guys and Gals
Temptation is a terrible thing and a surprisingly strong force. Well done for not succuming to it.
I know what you mean about what to do with the rest of your life. I feel like that now and again and I try to look at the things I have in my life and how I would feel if they were not there. Simple things like Kids, My health and the world around me and the wonders of waking up every morning with a whole day ahead of me.
Sermon over and I will climb from my Pulpit. It is Sunday after all and I am working at the moment and will finish at 3pm and go home to a lovely Roastie.
Hope you all have a great day
Take care

Morning All .... well nearly afternoon now
Well done Jo - you should be really proud for not giving in. Sometimes the idea of a couple just grabs you doesn't it.
Mrs BHB had a mystery shopping job to do last night - guess where - at the Threshers offy! Her job was to to go and buy some stella or carlsberg and comment on the service etc. Needless to say we both had a couple of cans of the wretched stuff last night. I was all set for lemon and fizzy water when that one came through. The the idea was implanted.
So great job all you people that are abstaining. I am reducing slowly, but know it just takes a bit of stress and I do what I did on friday night and drunk the house dry
One little step at a time for me I'm afraid
Off to help my parents this afternoon - they are moving house in a couple of weeks - time for a sort out
