Beachbeth, I think what got me over that hurdle the first time was a bit of bloody minded I've done 2 days so I'm d... well going to do 3 now. That was my target and then I knew I'd drink my reduced amount on the 4th day so I wasn't fretting about having to go on and on.

My trouble is that on day one I'll be thinking "Ive got to do this for 3 days" and I that will put me off starting in the first place.:o I'll perhaps just have to concentrate doing it for one day and tomorrow is another day. Then day 2 I can think "Yes, Im going to do it again", if you see what I mean.

Yes, I see what you mean. I couldn't see how on earth I'd get to 3 days either for a long, long time. I did some single days at first followed by a reduced amount for a while then tried 2 days, then an A day, then the 3 days. Then I found that I could do more....still very hard though. Personally don't think it matters if you stay at any of the stages for a while, even if you drink every other day or just have a few AF days per week to start with. If you've been used to drinking a lot like I was even that was better than before:eek: .

Thanks for all the posts today guys. I logged on to say help I'm struggling a bit tonight as everyone's away for the night:eek:  and I've got the house to myself. I didn't think I would but I've been having those how shall I best enjoy myself thoughts and images of beer and lay-ins keep coming into my mind:mad: . I feel a bit more focussed having read the thread but if you've any spare AF vibes could you send them my way?

Might pop in later, love Ali x.

    Phew!!!!!!!!!!!
Just had a really close shave.
Took DD2 and her OH out to a 'do' and she said she was looking forward to a nice cold glass of wine.
It got me feeling that I would rreally like a drink tonight then maybe just a couple at the wedding tomorrow wouldnt hurt.

Anyway on the way back had to pop into Tesco for DH for his whisky so had to walk down THE aisle:eek:

Looked at all the bottles of white wine longingly and then came across Eisburg non alcoholic wine.
Its bloody horrible:eek: but it did the trick ,I am now sitting here safe and sound (and alcohol free)and I will finish the bottle LOL.and I will drive to the wedding tomorrow.PROMISE.

I couldnt bear to come on here and have to go back to Day one.;)
    Good luck for tonight everyone

Molly, well done! That really was a close shave! Good on ya, hope you enjoy your day (at least you'll wake up tomorrow with a clear head whilst everyone else is suffering!)

Lurky, well done to you too, have you done your run yet?

Alisong, how did it go last night?

BHB, ginger beer...yuck! I remember when they used to sell that in McDonalds, I always thought it smelt like my dad's insulin :rotfl:

    How's everyone else?

    xx
