Not sure how long I am gonna last this month, we are gong on The Annual Holiday next week on the boat & it's a bit like trying to start a diet the week before Xmas, a niggling "might as well not bother now & just start when we get back" is...niggling. And it's my birthday while we are away. Keep trying to tell myself every little helps but I don't shop in Asda anyway.

I have the same issue wb. We are on holiday in just under two weeks, but I WANT to do this anyway. I get that niggle 'might as well ait til I get back', but I know that when I get back there'll be a 'might as well wait until.....' somthing else. So I'm gonna try and stick at this, have a good holiday with no promises, then come back knowing that I have done SOMETHING, so I can do it again.

    Warped logic, probably......

oh... and every little helps..... that's Tesco :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: oh the power of advertising :rotfl: :rotfl:

14 months now....most day there is a small battle in my head - some days it last longer than others...I won't make out that it's all plain sailing after a certain point...it isn't...that's where the long-term strategies come in...will I no longer think of it? don't know....perhaps it will be a distant memory but in my opinion there is no cure as such...just ways of getting by and doing what's best for you.

for me that's not touching a drop at all and that suits me fine....

keep up the good work everyone.

I find that SCARY, I kind of assumed you were sailing through it these days. Shows you can never be complacent. I know eselt & MP have also had near-wobbles if that's the right way of putting it. Hmmmmm. Mind you, all the more credit to you for keeping going, Spose if it was easy you might not be here

complacency is the bit before you have "just the one"...and who knows where that road leads?

Woss the Asda one then? Actually I often DO shop at Tesco's so I'll have to stick at it. I'm hoping that if I can keep at it before the hols (only 6 days to go after all) I'll not only feel better at the start of the trip but might even NOT get wellied every night we are away. Be quite nice to avoid the 4am "where's the bucket?" scenario (that's for a wee (TMI) not to be ill!! - it's v basic on board me hearties!). Just been reading an article in a mag about a holiday being a good time to start a new regime cos you are away from the normal routine. It will help enormously that the boat prob can't carry what would be my usual wine supply for 10 days so I'll have to be on rations.:rotfl:

Walking down our road on a windy morning before collection is scary...most of them have a fair stash of empties in there....made me realise how much we, as a nation must be putting away over a week....with the taxes they collect, no wonder the government's happy for the wine to flow!

Had a slightly embarrassing moment, had to go to the psyco's today but went to get in the car and the petrol light came on and I've got NO money whatsoever, I didn't even have enough money to get the bus there and back. So I had to ring her and cancel last minute with a carp excuse....I feel really bad.

Although, my luck was in because I decided to use the time sticking something on ebay that I had been falling over in the hall for the last couple of months, stuck it on at £50.00 on a buy it now or best offer, it sold for the full asking price in 6 minutes!!!!! Problem is, it's gonna cost a tenner to post it off in the morning and I haven't got any money to post it :rotfl: (just had to ring my poor pensioner mum and ask to borrow it :o )

I think life is scary  when you sober up as you are living in reality and all the reasons you have to drink are still there and you have to deal with them- I thinks its important that people find ways to handle difficult stuff whilst they still have a choice about whether to drink or not- its when you lose that choice because you have gone too far that the real problem starts. Yep, I still have my wobbly days (but not half as bloody wobbly as I used to be staggering around half cut all the time!!! ) but I try and think of triggers as a column of dominos sneaking up behind me, each one getting bigger all the time, until a great big one flattens me- as long as I can stop that first domino falling, and deal with the problem, I know I'm in with a good chance of resisting a drink.

Lurkio- Could the problem with your formula be that LDS (length and density of straw) has not been considered? Think I'm going back to 'just pop' until the perfect coke float debate is resolved :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone is OK, everyone sounds really perky today.
