Hi everyone, Barshambilly great to have you back...I was starting to worry a bit..still getting ill from eating is so much better for you than getting ill from drinking...its all relative I suppose:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Had a bit of a knock back today, went for my monthly check for blood results etc and my hepatitis isn't getting any better even though I haven't touched a drop since 14/12/07-I thought it was a bit weird that the whites of my eyes are still a bit yellow round the edges, even though I feel so full of life and energy- feeling really angry, but I know this is all my own fault. Plus one of the guys at my AA meetings was found dead after a bender, his sister found him and his dog would'nt let anyone near him, he was just protecting him and trying to keep him warm-he was dry for 18 months and a lovely chap- his liver just packed up on him- he'd been trying so hard, bless him- just makes me want to beat this, really beat this, I don't think I've ever hated anything so much as I hate alcohol right now............

Right depressing post over!! Back to life, and thank you so much for all the positive posts on here- sometimes when I think about throwing in the towel I log on here and get so much motivation from you all- don't know how I would of sobered up without you guys- thankyou so much.
  • Thanks Eselt.
Sorry to hear about your friend at AA. It sort of puts in perspective doesn't it?

Mrs BHB has just gone out to the shops - She has strict instructions only to bring Alcohol free beer home. At least its another step in the right direction and KNOW I'm going to finish another day without it.

    Good luck for tonight everyone

    Best Wishes
    BHB

  • Morning All,
Survived last night. I was a bit fidgety but managed OK, though could not get to sleep.

I have a headache this morning - not from the boose obviously but we have had builders next door for the last few weeks and they started with a sledge hammer at 7.55 this morning and haven't stopped!

Me thinks its time to go out for a while ;)

We have loadsa ebay stuff to take to the post office this morning so guess that will be the first point of call.

Hope everyone has a great day

    BHB

    morning all

A day behind you BHB. Start of day 2.....

Ribena and milk (not in the same glass _pale_) were the order of the day. No great problems to report. Didn't realise I still had a beer in the fridge, though.... thought about it a couple of times, but then thought that once I'd had that one (just to get rid of it, of course), I would have then thought "ah stuff it, might as well go to the shop". So it's still there.....

    Well done everyone else!!

    Hope everyone's ok :D

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D

OMG I used to love a coke float! Our local ice cream parlour when I was a kid (it's now a £1 shop ), used to sell them, they had the most wonderful vanilla ice cream and about 20 different flavoured syrups for the ice cream floats mmmmmmmmmm!!

Well done BHB and Lurky, you are both doing great. Lurky are you stopping or cutting down?

Day 13 for me today, unlucky for some

Not been lurking, been away a few days & come back to find......

WELL DONE JO!!!!:j (where are you today - all OK?) Edit - you posted while I was writing this

And well done / good luck to all you others (I don't like to name everyone individually when I've been away a while cos I'll be bound to miss one person & upset them!).

My recycling was collected Friday 1st August & my resolve is to keep it empty all month, which means I can drink when I'm out but not on my own at home (no cheating - no wineboxes!!). Really today is Day 1 though cos I haven't been home since Friday!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Am dreading going home today...not cos of being AF but on Friday afternoon when we had a downpour there was water coming through DD's bedroom ceiling. This is after I'd had 2 hours in A&E with my foot (nothing broken, but it's been 2 weeks now & I'm still in flip flops - cold!) & done a huge pile of ironing so it was last straw moment. I had to take my poorly foot up into the loft & I've got a hole in the roof! I "repaired" it with a sheet of wood & a binliner & did a runner to OH's house . You know how it is, ignore something & it goes away :o

Fingers crossed, wish it would stop raining so much!
