Ive been out all morning and just come back. I can relate to what you say, Shopaholic. I find that I either don't drink or I drink a lot and theres no inbetween. I used to be able to just have a couple but not now.
I hope your doctor is helpful and sympathetic but don't give up if he/she isn't.0 -
I just found this thread and feel compelled to post!
I am 20 and live with my gf 21, recently i have found that i would come home from work, get changed and without thinking crack open a bottle of beer and sit myself on the balcony in the last of the sun. beautiful.
however this would then turn into the horrid bloaty feeling after 4 or 5 bottles of beer, which then leads to the bottle of lovely sailor jerry rum and coke, couple of those and i'm relaxed for the evening.
not being a little guy (6ft3 and 17stone) i dont really worry about the booze as it doesnt really affect me too much, and recently i have been to the point where i realised that i'm not some hardcore drinker but a hardened drinker too used to drinking too much.
The above example of a day was not everyday by any stretch of the imagination but to be honest i could be at home and have 3 bottles of beer with and after dinner without even thinking about it.
this is not good. therefore i have decided to operate the 80:20 drinking rule.
basically not on work nights, friday night and saturday night (cheeky sunday afternoon) are all allowed but no on week nights.
this is actually starting to work out nicely for me, seem to be getting along well, and am in week two now. Cannot recommend it enough!Lightbulb Moment January 2008Committed Lightbulb Moment June 2008!Total Debt January 2008 - £12,000 June 2008 - [strike]£11465[/strike], July 08 £9942:beer:0 -
