we don't meant to nag...it's just that some things are important! there's stuff I went through in the first 72 hours that I wouldn't wish on anyone and it's not just physical.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... Simon,
Have a look on your local councils website to get the number of the local drug and alcohol service, you need advice. I/we are really not the people to say whether you stop drinking or just drink half as I know I am the same and once I've started I can't stop. But I really really REALLY am concerned by the amount you've been drinking for such a long period then just stopping, your heart could literally give out if you go into a seizure.
None of us want to frighten you but we're only going from things we've read up. I used to have counselling some years ago and attend a group meeting where a few of us did go into detox, I was allowed to do it at home but had to have daily appointments to keep a check but there were some that drank far more than me that had to have inhouse detox as the risk of DT's was far too serious so they were watched constantly.
I'm not saying you need to go into detox but I definately think (know :rolleyes:) that you need monitoring during the first couple of weeks.
You are doing an amazing thing, and have made the most important decision you are ever going to make, please do it with lots of support and advice.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Jo & Bismark - thanks.
I can't get a GP's appointment until next week. Well I can get one but not my own GP.
Though if I ring tomorrow they say they can release some appointments ????What every that means.

Why not see a different one then? Otherwise ring first thing when they open and get a 'released' appointment (whatever that means
)
