    Morning all,

Really disappointed in myself today, I had 4 cans last night. Had a row with
DD1 which didn't help, not saying it's her fault or that's the reason I did it but I just had an 'eff it' moment.

I knew I shouldn't have bought 4 cans but my local offy sell them £1.10 per can or 4 for £3.50  as the true DFW'er that I am, it's obviously a better deal to buy the 4 but, unfortunately, as I've proved I have absolutely no self control. I thought I was doing okay after chucking one down the sink and leaving one in the fridge the next night, but once again become complacent far far too quickly :(

Going to see counsellor tonight, s'posed to be dropping to 2 cans, this is like a slow painful torture. I don't think I'll be able to see him next week cos I've got a meeting to go to, so unless he can change the day, I will miss next week, then the following week he's away so won't see him that week either. It's just unfortunate that it's happened like that, but he said he'll be available on the phone all next week if I need him.

    How's everyone else?

    xx

    ((((jo))))

never mind. And as for buying 4 - think of it this way. If you only buy three you spend 20p less ;) :money:

Hope everyone else is good this morning. I still haven't had any :D

Yeah but if my plan worked and I only drank 3 and saved one for today, I've saved myself 90p :D

Really it should be easier today as I'm down to 2, I will only buy 2 cos having 4 will be very dangerous

I bought 2 juice drinks from Sainsburys yesterday. One says "Pina Colada without the rum" and is in the chilled juice section. It has coconut, pineapple and banana and although its quite tasty its very thick and almost a smoothie and I couldn't drink much of it. The other was in the UHT drinks section and is Rubicon pineapple and coconut. This was much nicer and more like Malibu.

However, I think im the sort of person who either needs to drink or not drink because I ended up having some vodka (only a couple though!) as it got me in the mood for drinking. I think if I stick to tea, coffee or soft drinks Im not so tempted to drink whereas drinking something that should be alcoholic but isn't just makes me want to put alcohol in it!!!

    Am
I never was a violent man
    G Am
Said the man in the bar with his head in his hands

He's trying his best to understand
    G Am
    The cause of his dismay

But years of gin have broken him
And left him cold where he fitted in
And it's too late now to turn around
    And find another way.

    Chorus :
    Dm F
All the laughs in the late night lock-in
    Am G
They fade away when he gets in
    Dm F
The girl from fifteen years ago
    Am
    Has packed and gone away.

    Verse :
That's never how it used to be
What happened to all that energy ?
You took one too many liberties
    I'm tired of being afraid

So after a fight she took flight
Hiding swollen eyes and a wounded pride
The best years of her life denied
    And sold for liquid shares.

    Chorus :
And the laughs in the late night lock-in
They fade away when he gets in
The girl from fifteen years ago
    Has packed and gone away.

    Bridge :
    Am G
And the victims of this world
    Am G
    They're advertised on posters
    Am G
Just a beach and a pretty girl
    Am G
    You just take this potion.

    Verse :
It's another week 'till his cheque comes through
He's got a fiver left now to spend on food
But the doors of the bar are open
    And he breaks another rule

He sits on the stool that bears his name
He's got a favorite glass now that's called the same
And he's never been kept waiting
'Cause he pays the landlord's wage.

    Chorus :
And the laughs in the late night lock-in
They fade away when he gets in
The girl from fifteen years ago
    Am G
    Has packed and gone away
All the laughs in the late night lock-in
They fade away when he gets in
The girl from fifteen years ago
    Has packed and gone away.

I was going to take the chords out of this Levellers song but there are probably some players among you so you may appreciate them

I remember the feeling well! I used to slip a vodka into juice drinks - used to think I was being a great money saver!

The "bargain" deals are a conspiracy....I used to hate the 3 bottles of wine for £10 offers....

I'd just stick to buying your daily shopping and ignoring any saving you could theoretically make....that saving isn't real until the can is sat there waiting to be drunk on the next day.

Changing subjects...when I was in my twenties and a student I ate a whole litre tub of strawberry sorbet from Tescos...didn't mean to...it was just there and I wanted to finish it....think the control thing is not just alcohol but down to personality....something like the feeling of completion when something's gone....hard to explain...
