Gotta be quick cos boss is lurking so I'll post properly later.

CP, it would have been my late father's 80th birthday tomorrow too :( He died 15 years ago. I'm not looking forward to it cos my mum is gonna be so sad :(

    Ummmm... quick question....

Is it normal to be irascible (sp?), or have I just got annoying kids? :o

    Good Morning
    Day 19

No hens to worry about here.......................but can sooooooooo relate to the fact that my weight ain't shifting..................I'm afraid it's developing tentacles and suckers and clinging frantically and menacingly around my person!! Ggrrrrrrrrr !!

A box of wine arrived last week....................my 3 monthly order from virgin wines..............eek !! The last one came in January and it had gone within a week..................me and my sister glugged all 12 bottles over the course of 6/7 days.............bloody hell !!:eek::cool: This time round it sat in the lounge for 4 days untouched...............no cravings either !! I was dead proud of myself. It's now gone to my mum and dad's for distribution..............there's only so much testing one should put one self through :A alas! my angelic phases are neither longlasting nor entirley pure of thought !! :p

Hope all is well with everyone and that this warm, bright morning brings renewed hope and resolve for all of us. :T:T:j:T:T

well done on all counts....when can you cancel the order with Virgin wines.....sounds like hell.

talking of family...how do you explain what you're doing to them?

my mum didn't believe me when I said I'd stopped...

    "what....totally?"

    yup

then came Christmas...ate at her house and drank diet coke...

then my Mum produced a trifle...that reeked of goodness knows what it....Mrs B gave me a knowing look which warned of clear danger.....here was a serious challenge!

    do I:

    a) refuse point blank and go off on one about lack of support from family
    b) politely say I'm full, no thanks
    c) have some out of politeness and have the mother of all temptations afterwards
    d) have some and feel dreadfully guilty afterwards
    e) have some and have a stinking headache all afternoon

I'll reveal the answer this evening....your guesses are welcome...what would you have done?

kids bring out the best and the worst in you!

on the one hand they can drive you to think you need to crack open a bottle but on the other they give you a reason to pour it down the sink and not buy any more.;)

This is what I'd do providing I had been quit a while and wasn't going through a dry drunk quit.

depending on how the day had been up until that point.... and maybe not 'go off on one', but make it very clear......

Actually this is a good point....

If it was my mum offering me sherry trifle, I'd politely say I'm full, no thanks. But on the other hand if it was my OH I'd plump for a)

It's when you quit actually drinking alcohol but don't change your mindset.
