Oh. Can't think of what to say to that; you were doing SO WELL! I may yet end up having to go same route & stop altogether  for the time being I am just keen to drink much less overall. Am with OH virtually every weekend & prob another evening would see a friend so am talking about drinking 3 nights a week sensibly instead of 7 nights a week stupidly. But we shall see......am sobered (ouch bad pun) by your testimony.

Don't get me wrong WB, I'm not saying you can't do it or anyone else for that matter, it does work for some. Just didn't work for me that's all :)

  • Hi all, Caved in last night and in theroy have drank my weekend wine, but bought a bottle today with shopping at Mr T. Yesterday I was leap froging with kids over concrete bollards on route to school. DS1 can't do it but DS2 can, so he fell and sprained his wrist. School sent him and me to minor injuries. Anyhoo despite this he thought he would make a cake after tea. So as I'm bathing DS3, Gordon blooming Ramsay, starts nagging me to look at the cake:mad: . So I stomped into the kitchen and said "what's that smell?". I had left the hob on and DS2's packed lunch box had fell from the top shelf onto the cooker ring, all the plastic had melted and was seconds away from catching fire:eek: . So had to finish wine, when kids went to bed to recover from the shock. Finding it difficult to get out of the it's the weekend lets buy wine senario. Last week ended up buying 2 as on offer, but did share one with hubby, but finished both bottle now. I have put the wine in the cupboard. Hubby has cut back, so I should make more of an effort.Driving me mad:mad:

Oh god CP, what a nightmare! Sounds like you deserved a glass (or two) of wine after that. I reckon I would've done the same!

I hope your weekend goes relatively smoothly!

Evening all! Flipping heck HOW many pages lol!! Only joking - great that people are supporting each other so much! Have been trying to get the hang of my GB this month so been on o's quite a bit! Sorry! Struggle with not enough hours in the day! Wine wise been okish - had just over 1/2 a revolting botle (so bad the rest went down the plug!) and have a bottle for the w/e & thats it. Will be ahead of myself as didnt have much last week & thats where I wanted to be at so happy with that!
Sorry youve had such an aful week BHB but WELL DONE on not caving! How did court go?
Well done jo! Fab of you but agree with eltan about the taste of alch free plus when I had some it made me feel more hungover than the real stuff! Great that the kids enjoy the benefit at a day in the aquarium! Lovely memories that are priceless & much nicer than spending it on booze!
Anyone seen leigh? Hope hes ok...Hi winebox & sea - just do your best each day and start each day afresh!
hugs all. So chuffed that this is such a place of support and help and so far not an ounce of judgement! Fabby! Would be interested to have a linky of alen carr book as worth a read...when I read (& then sold!!) the fags one I gave up but started again - doing better than I was but still not managed to kick the habit compleatly....

Day 7 done and dusted. First day off as well. I was even stood in the beer aisle at MrT's and was looking and having a battle with the good and evil angel and devil on my shoulder.
Came out of tesco's with a bottle of Coke :D

Lovely weather here today. They reckon about 23 degrees .

Hope it's as as good where you are

Just got back from Sainsburys. Did not even go down the beer aisle and came out with a bottle of water
  • Well done AB on reaching day 7, but I've only got one thing to say to you:
'Dont drink, dont smoke - what do you do?
Dont drink, dont smoke - what do you do? '
If you set 'em up, then I'm gonna have to head them in Goody Two Shoes!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope that BHB and Mrs BHB are okay. Glad you're sorting it out with a clear head.............drinking just numbs your senses and encourages you to put it off.................and the problem is still there. Have a good weekend :T

YM Well done...............I had coke last night when I went out.................whilst I sat watching my sis devour a bottle of wine.................didn't feel as though I was missing out either !!! :p

ISOM Nice to hear from you. Would you explain the line ' Have been trying to get the hang of my GB this month so been on o's quite a bit! Sorry!' then I'll know whether to forgive you or not. :rotfl:

Winebox Keep up the good work...and keep posting. You make me smile. :D ...........................especially eating lunch at 11am...................I've done that too !!.....and tea by 3pm...........oh Lord !!

Jo: Day 10 and the aquarium........both a dry and wet day for you !! Well done girl !!

Cornishpixie Today is day 2 for you. Hope the series of unfortunate events is over !!

SamanthaA I used to drink by myself. I slowly woke up to the fact that I'm not enjoying it. With the help of this forum, I'm kicking the habit..............chocolate, fizzy water, vit c effervescent tabs in fizzy water really kill the thirst for alcohol, a renewed enthusiasm for baking, long walks in the evenings. Am discovering a new lust for life................as well as recovering lots of lost time. Good luck. Samantha............keep posting :j

    Day 8 for me............yahoo !!
Take care. Have a brill weekend...............hope the sun shines. xx
