Morning all,
Funny that Jo - I had a rubbish day yesterday too. Mind you Mrs BHB did get a court claim for a bad debt last year land on the doorstep in the morning so we were both a little stressed.
Anyway - like you didn't cave in and now think if we can cope with that can cope with anything.
Good luck for today everyone

Wow 36 days BHB, are you feeling better?
SM, I'm sick to the stomach of coffee and orange squash, god knows how I drank the same beer night in night out :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Hi Jo,
Yes am feeling much better thanks. So stressed yesterday - spent the whole evening craving a cool class of chardonnay! Today is another day!
Though the inlaws are due later for the day so chaos will follow shortly
Love 'em to bits but their dog and our three don't mix - bedlom awaits!
I may go and sit in the barn with the goats
Yes its weird isn't it - alchohol goes down quick yet if you try and drink that much of something else - it doesn't!
Have a great day

My school's shut cos it's polling day today, I've got the two lil'uns and said we'll go somewhere, wherever they want to go. DS wants to go to the jungle and DD2 wants to go to the childminders
But got up this morning and freezer has defrosted all over the kitchen floor, so don't look like I'm going out for a few hours, in fact I shouldn't really be on here at the moment!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Morning all - manana is today! Day 1! Feeling OK so far but then again I don't usually start this early!! Hard to maintain the self-esteem after getting on the scales this morning (OWWWWW) but hopefully will be losing lbs & saving £s.
Jo & BHB & SM ever so well done, take my hat off to you esp when you've overcome a craving. Have yet to be tested on that - I just give in usually. Know what you mean re the soft drinks - yeuch. The only time I laid off the booze for a long period was when I was pregnant, only had 1 or 2 glasses a week, & I got so sick of fruit juice & pop.
Thanks again for the support, am in work now will prob drop in this evening for help, when you don't have a drink there's such a lot of day to get through.0 -

Luckily there wasn't much in there apart from the obligatory chips and veg
I've sorted out the kids breakfasts, 3 times, they eat alot! And am now on my 4th coffee so ready to tackle the kitchen I think.
Winebox, the day is very much longer without a drink, imagine all the hours we've 'lost' get yourself prepared to this evening, magazines, internet, cleaning, TV planner etc.. Don't find yourself sat there with nothing to do. Also treat yourself to some drinks you like and also stuff to nibble on to take your mind off it. Good luck, I'll try and be around as much as I can later for moral support
I forgot to say the other night, you know I'd bought those non-alch Stellas, well I was having one the other night and OH said 'oh your drinking again, that's every night now isn't it?'

I said 'if you don't mind I've not had a drink for 8 days and you've not even noticed!' He looked at the Stella bottle and I said 'NON ALCOHOLIC!!'
Got a major craving then, just wanted to say **** it, I said 'well if you can't tell the difference between me being sober and drunk then there's not much point is there'. He said he hadn't noticed a difference so I said that I'd managed to stay up the night before till midnight watching a film which is unheard of, I'm usually in bed by 10.30pm cos I've been drinking. Also I normally spend most of the evening in the kitchen or the bath when I'm drinking but I've actually spent the last week in the front room in front of the telly with him or on the computer, I said 'haven't you noticed me sat there!!!!' Then I think he twigged
Also, we were in Tesco last night and we walked past the Carlsberg or summat and it was on offer and he mentioned what a good deal it was. I said 'you don't even drink beer and I'm not drinking anymore!' He shut up then!

Thanks Jo.
Hope your OH actually managed a "well done" in the end? Haven't bothered to tell mine (we don't live together so he has no way of knowing how much I do / don't have when I'm at home in the week) I mentioned it once before & he was just sarcastic & said how boring. This from the man whose wife died of.....cirrhosis.
So IN SPITE OF them.....your OH is maybe feeling a bit uncertain of himself as he's seeing you being strong & not needing your crutch, & maybe that independence is scary.
I have a mega healthy dinner planned for tonight - if I start on the junk food I won't lose any weight & then I'll be thinking what's the point of not drinking.0 -
I don't think he'll make a big deal of it, cos I'm not either. I didn't even tell him I'd given up cos I want to stay relaxed about it rather than last time I gave up it was always brought up in conversation. It's a touchy subject with him anyway as his mum died through alcohol. I have my fav Thai chicken and basil for dinner tonight, so excited!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
