Evening guys,
Must stop working and get on here earlier its taken me ages to catch up again!!
Jo I've just totted up think I've saved at least £40 since I started cutting down:eek: thats really scary!!
I read the Alan Carr book about 18mths ago and to be honest the theory worked while it was all fresh in my memory, but after a bit I just thought sod it I know its poison (alcohol) but i don't care:mad: should have kept re reading like others have suggested, but with hindsight I don't think the time was right didn't feel anything like as committed as I do now (but then I was on my own, can't fail now with all you lot supporting me)
Winebox, Sea and Elantan great to see you back
AB well done on celebrating the alcohol free way (I've had to endure DD screeming around the house like a banshee enough to drive me to it:rotfl: )
Hope everyone else is O.K tonight, Im off for more of that fab beauty sleep!!
SM xxGC 9/4-6/5

:j '..........And the reds went marching in' Wahoo!! :j
Last 10 minutes were a bit nerveracking though - makes me wonder (yet again) why I put myself through it. _pale_
Hereford were promoted at the weekend to league 1 as well .................. wowee!! _party_
Now it's my son's turn to go through it tonight....................he's a big Liverpool fan.....................gonna love watching him squirm.
There's been so many good posts on here in the last 24 hours I hardly know where to begin.
I forgot to say hello to TNG yesterday...................whoops !! How's it going?
AB and YM - you are big man u fans too ! :j Defence was brilliant ! I was sober too....................tea and biscuits for me :coffee:................choking on them at times !!
Elantan, Winebox and Sea Soooooooooo glad to 'see' you on here again. Hope you keep coming back and posting.
Singlemum Wow!! you're soooooooooooo beautiful, I've gotta wear shades  I've noticed that my skin is clearer, less blotchy and dare I say it............more youthful !! Keep up the good work :T
Jo Cake or no cake..................you are doing just fine. :T I love reading your posts.
BHB  Very curious to know what do you think the benefits of of the acupuncture have been, how often and how long you're having it for, and how long do the benefits last. Sounds like it's been great for you.
Mollypolly :A How can I thank you enough for posting that original link on Allen Carr..........................you may have just changed my life .
As you can probably tell, I'm a man u, hereford and allen carr fan. Finished the book in two days and just started reading it again. (slowly this time) Will put some serious thought to the matter so I can summarise the book and share with you how it's affected my thought processes It's been liberating because I get the message that giving up alcohol is not about willpower !! how good is that ?!! Okay I'm only on day 5..................but feeling soooooooooooooo positive.
I can relate to basilcat having bought the job lot of books..............something I do on a regular basis. I kinda get that feeling I can do everything at once - maybe that's multi-tasking gone a bit too far !! :rotfl:
One of the many positive thoughts from the book is that an 'alcoholic' (defined as a person who has lost control of their drinking - which Allan says is anyone who drinks) is that we are all strongwilled people not weakwilled. - so none of us are namby-pamby or useless or hopeless - that's just the drink 'talking'. :T:T:T:T Guess between us all, we could sit on the board of the united nations and bring about world peace..................and being fuelled by nothing more than tea and biscuits !!!
Speak to you all soon....................take care y'all hear now !!

Morning NT,
Not sure to be honest - I definitely sleep better and the craving seems to lessen. Having said that I'm not sure whether its the acupuncture itself, or the hour in a quite room and relaxing music with no hassles .....if you see what I mean. It might be just the hours relaxation - if you have have that with five needles stuck in each ear.
I think it has been proved that it helps though, in western terms. I did some internet research last week on what they were actually doing, and it is supposed to release endorphines and stuff that do actually make you feel happier.
Anyway - having a week off this week to see how I get on without it.
Have a great day everyone
