maisie, i know what you mean. i made rice pudding too. made double what the recipe said and it still only filled it half way. this size is perfect for joints of meat and hopefully a stew might fill it. thanks everyone. i will be getting in touch with mr to see what they say.

miacat - I can either cook fairly small amounts in mine, or overfill it if I'm doing a curry and I don't get the problems you're having. As Squeaky says, mine spits a bit sometimes, but not much and when it starts doing that, I dabble bits of paper towel around the edge to soak up any water. Even then, I tend to find it only does it if I've previously taken the lid off, so the 'seal' is broken and the rim is not completely dry when I replace it. I'd give 'em a call and complain.

Oh dear. That does certainly sound as though it's getting too hot.

Used it today for the 4th time in 5 days. its a good gadget, as I can eat whenever i'm hungry :D

I have it on high for the 1st hour, then on Low for about 6hrs. Made casserole and heres the outcome :(

That certainly looks wrong to me. Mine has never done anything like that. It doesn't look as though it was very full though, does the book have any advice about minimum fill levels for recipes? Other people have posted about theirs burning on one side, so by all means keep that photo safe so you can email it to the manufacturers, and I'm sure one or two other people will be along shortly to tell you what they think too :)

its the 3.5L Cookworks model, and it only tells you not to fill to the brim, nothing about any minimum levels.

it does say and i quote ' as the temperature is low, very little sticking occurs'
i get less sticking cooking on the hob!!!!

today, it was just under half full.

will try and take it back to Argos for an exchange, but cant get there till Tues.

Have you cleaned it? Or have you left the burnt stuff on for them to see? And don't forget to quote the book at them :)
