Beware of E4B contract

  • Well I can now confirm that we must have set the cat amongst the pigeons at Scottish Power.

We have just been emailed along with many other brokers and informed that

"With immediate effect we cannot accept any ScottishPower electricity products taking an electricity supply currently under a contract with Electricity4Business Ltd. (E4B)

ScottishPower has been encountering difficulties when attempting to register customers currently supplied by
    Electricity4Business
. These difficulties have arisen as a result of the requirements in the terms and conditions applying to Electricity 4 Business' electricity contracts.

Any contracts submitted that are currently supplied by
    Electricity4Business will be rejected.

Speaks volumes really about Scottish Powers incompetence

  • Its a pity E4B have no morals.
As when they breach their own conditions, they still bully, threaten and intimidate customers to illegal extended contracts, force expensive buy-outs and all around put people under extreme pressure.

Scottish power and the other big major suppliers have subtle differances in their T&C's, but are broadly simlar in terminating of contracts.

It is E4B THIEVES who's T&C's are a lot different with a much tighter limit.

I think it fair for the big suppliers to want E4B to bring their termination conditions into line with everyone else's. There is still a big question if there is such a thing as 'enforced rollover contract'.

I am told they have had to take on extra staff and another office address to deal with the amount of complaints.
If you weigh more than the space you take, You will sink !.
  • E4B went into administration this morning.
One of my Children who works for the company went into work this morning and was told that the company went into Administration this morning and that they were now out of a job.
  • Advocatus Diaboli,
Its not nice to hear of any honest person loosing their job.
I myself have had to make two people redundant today.

Your children where not to know they where employed by a bunch of thieves.

I hope they get another job soon.

I have to also think about the generators who have now not been paid by these people. I have just had several phone calls from people who where being intimidated by E4B and they have been under tremedious stress.

I hope the OFT and fraud squad can put these people in jail as a warning to others who mis-use position of power.

Here is the final sting in the tail regarding E4B..........

I have just spoken to Consumer Direct who have taken over from the now disbanded Energywatch.
All E4B customers are now free to go elsewhere for their energy supply, however, any customers who had an account that was in credit will not be able to get their money back.

So heres a final message to Doctor Simon Jonathon Miles and Co. who I am assuming are probably sunning themselves somewhere very hot without a care in the world.
I will personally be keeping a very close watch for all of the directors at E4B setting up yet another scam touting company. You know who you are and a great deal of disgruntled E4B customers have made the effort to find out.
  • I am a customer of E4B-or is it former?!- I am extatic they have gone under- they were making me pay really expensive rates because i didnt leave them in time on renewal!

Anyway, after my rant! what you need to do now is make sure you shop around for a new deal- British gas have took over our supply for the time being, and the rumours in the press is that they are going to put all our prices up!

I had a look on the internet and got in touch with a brokerage firm, they got prices from all the suppliers and got me a better deal than what i was paying with E4B so its worked out quite good for me.

Make sure you get onto a new deal ASAP because you dont want to be paying high prices with BG for too long!

The number for the firm that got me the new deal is 0151 236 0099, i spoke to a guy called nathan o'connor- i think the company is called ESP. You should give him a call and see what he can get you.

    Hope this has helped!:)

  • As we all know now that E4B HAVE GONE BUST, and all ex-customers require to be supplied either with the appointed BG or they change to another.

I think the most important thing to Ex-E4B customers is the
    TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

I have been looking through a few prospective suppliers and the T&C's range from one page in very small print barely intelligible, to 13 pages that when you have finished reading them you have unwittingly changed faith !!

does anyone know of a supplier who has terms like :-
    'x' pence per KWH
    FOR six/twelve MONTHS
    PAYMENT DIRECT DEBIT
MINIMUM 30 DAYS NOTICE TO CHANGE
each 6/12 month contact to be confirmed with a signed acceptance.
any arrears at contract end charged at 3% above base until cleared.
Customers CANNOT be stopped from changing supplier at term end.

This way suppliers will have to look after customers or they will move.
Customers will have to pay suppliers (complete) or they will just end up in small claims court with costs.

It seem to work in most business dealings, its worked with me for 26 years.
I know this seems very simplistic, but maybe thats whats needed, something simple.

  • I have changed my electricity supplier to BG 37.59p per day standing charge and 9.77 kWh today - 01162 00 8382 Gary. My rate with E4B used to be 44.69p per day and 8.080 p/kWh. Lucky I got my rebate of £1067 on 15/10/08 before they went belly up. I have cancelled my direct debit. Service was bad with E4B.
  • Re above I have been in touch with several brokers but they have not be able to beat 37.59p per day standing charge and 9.77p/ kWh - this is a 1 year deal only. If a broker says they can beat this ask them who the supplier is and call BG who say they will match the price.
