  • Thanks, I think thats what OH used to drain the machine. Turns out it was all blocked up again. Not surprised the amount of use it gets. Need to keep using calgon in every wash and do a hot wash once a month. Cost £52 so not too bad better than a new machine. Just had to replace the dryer.

Feeling fed up today, work going badly. I cant seem to get my head around things and then explain them in a report. Everytime I think Ive got my head around this job it bites back.

House is a tip so really need to make an effort with OH this weekend to have a good tidy and declutter. If I can find some boxes get ready for a car boot. Need to go check if Amazon do videos as OH has said I can sell his Star trek collection. If not more for the car boot. Good job we have a big car!

Hi Wendy, Sorry your not feeling too good, hope the weekend will cheer you up. Amazon do sell videos but I find there are sooooo many on there that the chances of selling them are slim. I've stuck a couple of Disney ones on there but nothing has shifted yet!!!
  • Thanks GR. Had a look and there were loads.

Had a daft moment. Thought I had a non spend day until I remembered the £20 chq for the newsagent and £52 for the washing machine. I dont want any more no spend days like that lol!!

  • Decided to be brave and have listed 5 star trek dvd box sets on amazon so fingers crossed. Any one know about posting I havent got around to thinking about wrapping them! Not fair that you only get £1.20 ish for a box set. Should make c £25-45 profit on each.

Will have a look in Tesco later. DD1 going out for the day with Guides and then straight to a sleepover so need a few supplies and a birthday present. Grocery budget for the week is £60 preferably including present.

Need to defrost freezer tonight that should be fun.

Good morning Wendy and well done on listing those DVD's. DS made £26 last night and I've got an armful of parcels to send off this morning.

I'm not shopping this week as I still can't get hold of my money :( never mind, it should save me some money.
  • Bet hes really happy. £26 the first night is great.

  • Defrosted the freezer with the help of the steamer. Cant believe I didnt think to use it before. It was much easier than usual.

Tesco shop, due to be delivered tomorrow ,should come to £50-55 when 2 for 1s taken off. Spent £17 earlier but only £7 grocery, £6.50 birthday and rest brown paper and bubble wrap for when something sells (fingers crossed) on Amazon.

Instead of a Mcd's which would have cost £10-12 I spent £8 in Tesco on Pizza, choco cake and meringue pie so spent a lot but less than I could have. Kids are happy.

Need to be careful this week only have £60 left to cover two weeks. Hopefully OH will buy top up bits (although hes short of cash) and the rest has to cover next Saturdays shop for the week.

Pick DD1 up at 11 DONE
    Put shopping away DONE

    Bake cookies? THINKING ABOUT
Have bath WELL STUCK HEAD UNDER SHOWER FOR NOW
    Ring Mum DONE

Not a great deal when written down but Im so lazy at weekends. Have got a loaf going in the breadmaker. Hope it is more successful than usual. I did line the tin with marg and flour but I think this is pointless because the mixing wipes it all off and it even might affect the mixture so we will have to wait and see.

Glad you got the washing machine fixed cheaper than you thought. I started using soda crystals in every wash, (rather than calgon) its effectively does the same job but the soda has a some cleaning power too so you can use less wash powder and its only about 52p for a kilo bag.

Well done on replacing your McD's meals, its little changes like that can really help. I have recently started putting together pizzas myself and they taste almost as nice as the shop bought ones, I buy the base (99p for 2 large ones that feed 2 adults each) and top it with pasta sauce (HM or jar, whichever is to hand) then value mozzarella (need half of a 75p bag). I also buy part-baked baguettes and turn them into garlic bread (total 25p per baguette). Its worth doing unless theres any fab deals on as the total cost per huge pizza is less than £1.

Good luck with the Amazon sales. I tried it with a couple of books but likewise found there was so much competition that that the profits after p&p was just pennies. I think it requires something a bit different to sell well so your box set should do well.
