Oh I got so excited for you reading about your first NSD, then got mad and sad for you about the newsagent bill. Is it on a 'slate' pay it when you feel like it, type thing? Might be worth making a formal arrangement to pay it every payday or something.

Well done for the weightloss. Have you done anything different? I often find I lose weight when Im not trying to, but when I am trying its tough to shift. So Im trying not to worry about the half stone Ive put on since Christmas, in the hope that it will remove itself. Must start leaving the car at home more.
  • The newspapers have stopped I have made an informal arrangment to pay in instalments but I keep forgetting. Wed was a mare and I didnt get around to it and today I was on site and left at 7 this morning. Will try to remember tomorrow.

Came back to a broken slow cooker with raw chicken and a very tired p**d off OH who had spent the day clearing up after the washing machine broke and flooded the kitchen.

Stuck the chicken in the oven, booked a repair (£50 call out and parts on top) and went to the chip shop.

So all in all not the best of days.

With regards to weight loss I hevent really planned anything all I can think is where I have been trying to save money on lunches and the groceries so not snacking so much. I find when I try I always fail so concentrating on the job, money, family and no trying to worry about the extra weight. Not a good day foodwise either today two packs of crisps, chocolate bar followed by chips!

Hi Wendy, sorry things have not been great for you today but as Diz has said, these things are sent to try us.

Hope the chips made you feel better :)
  • Thanks guys

Felt ok about it last night just tired. Have a mouth ulser and a foggy head this morning but hopeully that will clear soon.

Did an update on the March budget becasue of all the extras. I was aiming to have £150 + some back dated wages left over.

It not great but subject to extra spends I should have £280 less unbudgetted machice repair (£100 ish) left over. So around £180 towards next month :j .

They way things are going though I cant see the DFD coming down anytime soon.

Blimey Wendy, hope you can get the washing machine fixed without too much expense. Are you or your OH any good at DIY? My DH managed to fix our machine (and taught me how to do it) when it wasnt draining so flooded the place when you opened the door. Luckily it happened to us in summer.
These thinga always happen together dont they?! We had a light socket and the toaster both break within a couple of days, and then oven a couple of weeks later.

    Hope you're feeling better now!
  • What did he do because that sounds like what happened to ours. It wouldnt drain. There was water coming out of the powder draw!

    Feeling a bit better thanks

Theres a kickplate at the bottom of the washing machine and if you take that off theres a sort of twisty plug thing. If you undo that the water drains out, along with whatever has blocked it (stones, mud, etc). I do it every so often just to make sure its all clear. Tis a b*gger to drain though as its so close to the floor, you cant get a bucket / bowl under it, so have plenty of old towels to hand. Not sure if its different for different makes of machine, or because ours is a washer drier but worth a go! Hope it works and you can pyut that hundred quid to better use!
