:hello: :hello: :hello: Everyone (hussies or not) Welcome to the insanity belt newbies.
A little late today. We've had a wet and windy day here today, not cold but not what you expect from Spain!! The rain woke me up around 5.30 am, I came on the PC, but didn't start the thread as had nothing to say then. Had to wake DS and mate up at 4 am so they could get organised to catch the plane! Almost 23 year old males, with a brain and organised, you must be joking! So in the end bullied them into submission. They wanted to go and DH before leaving for the airport at 10am, but I wasn't giving way on that they had to clean their bathroom and bedroom, and strip their beds not leave it for me, so they had to speed up. They managed to do it (in a fashion!) and get a shower (for the sake of everyone on the plane) but didnt fit breakfast in so I ended up makng them ham sandwiches to eat on the way. They managed half an hour with DH, and then I took them to the airport, they are now your side of the water. I am having enough on trying to keep the house together while spending time with DH, and did not need them to shirk, just cos they had a good last night!
I've just left him now to get a bit of space and return the place to normal state, will wait for the weather to improve before tackling the washing mountain! Hopefully will know results tomorrow with decisions on treatment (if needed) and whether he gets home.

Hi everyone. I managed to motivate myself today and:
cleaned out my top cupboards in the kitchen
cleaned out fridge
sorted out bathroom cupboard again
completely cleared and wiped all sides down in kitchen
done 3 loads of washing so far
dw been on twice
kids have tidied their bedroom again
kids have taken their clothes away (amazing)
So now I'm just chilling for 5 minutes. I didn't realize just how many small containers of herbs and spices and food colourings/flavourings etc I had in the cupboards!!! So now I'm looking for a small cabinet/cupboard that I can wall mount in the pantry to keep them all in!!! Cheap as possible!!!
(((hugs))) to all

Afternoon all
lovely afternoon with my friend - lots of laughing and crying while dd11 looked on baffled. Good day shopping too - managed to get two packs of the hair colour that I like and which can only be gotten from wilko's apparantly, some varnish for my stairs, all the bits for painting the radiators and snazzy new school and lunch bags for dd11. dd then did a timed sats maths test while I Invigilated (read the paper actually)
Am using the window of time between carling cup and dancing on ice to sort out dinner - sweet and sour quorn for dd and a yummy smelling peice of whoopsied organic pork for me
have a good rest of the weekend and hugs to allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Hi all
Well, it feels like the aftermath of a hurricane. The kitchen in a terrible state, towels everywhere, washing to fetch in, washing to iron, toys to put away, bottle steriliser to drain and sort - just a normal Granny Brown weekend. Ooh oh, just found Scobby Doo computer discs which have been left by DGS1 plus DGS3 socks! Not a problem I am sure!
Boys were excellent but I am very tired tonight. Baby woke at 5.00 this morning and took a full milk feed (unheard of) and then went back to sleep until 7.00 when we all seemed to arise together! Had a good day. Did a roast dinner for DD and DSIL when came to collect boys but meat, gravy and left over stuffing already from the freezer. Made a plum and apple cumble for pud - DSIL loves puddings.
Boys very well behaved, DGS3 in particular. So long as he has plenty of toys he is quite happy to sit in the middle of the floor seeing what is going on (he only falls over occasionally) and it is really funny watching him being a bit mobile doing a frog impression! While I was preparing dinner today DD was on eBay, DSIL having rough and tough with DGS1 and 2 and DGS3 sat in his high chair in kitchen with me with a wooden spoon and a large bit of carrot to chew on!
Welcome to new folk. Smoky, hope things are OK. RedR, hope DH OK (not had to experience so can't offer advice). Just hope you are OK and coping.
Love and hugs to all the rest of you. I know some of you (or yours) being a bit poorly.
Right well, will continue watching skating on ice and then maybe tackle something! It will probably take until tomorrow to get back to normal! Who cares?

My youngest DD is eating granary bread, yippee!!!!! This the child who won't ever touch "brown" bread of any sort - and I often buy seedy/granary loaves. But my homemade granary rolls are vanishing at speed between all 3 DD's - I made 12 & there are 5 left! I foresee more baking tomorrow....
Meantime, got some banana bread going now for munchies laterLive your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Hiya!
I'm late posting as it's been another busy weekend.
Big hugs to Smoky and Redruby.
Yesterday we went over to my MIL's to do a few jobs for her and I took over some hm soup for lunch. Her back is aching at the moment but to be honest she doesn't half milk it! I feel really sorry for DH as he puts up with a lot from her.
Today we went to church/sunday school and then I came home to another pile of ironing. The bedding has been stripped and washed and I made a huge batch of spag bol for tea and for the freezer.
I've also been making biscuits with DD2 as I'm going to make them with the children at school and wanted to try out a couple of recipes. In the end I've chosen a gingerbread recipe and so we have 2 huge boxes full of shortbread biscuits and gingerbread men. Guess I won't lose any weight this week!
I went to put out our recycled rubbish before and was really annoyed as our neighbour at the back, had dumped all of his (unwashed) bagged recyled stuff in ours. I looked in his recycle bin and it had one enormous cardboard box in that he couldn't be bothered to break up, so thought he'd dump his rubbish in ours! So I've dumped it all in front of his back door with a polite notice asking him to use his own bin and not to fill up his neighbour's instead...cheeky b****r! Some people are so lazy and inconsiderate!
Right, rant over!:rotfl:
Some great news is that my parents are coming home from Oz on Tuesday. :j They've been away for 9 weeks so I can't wait to give them both a big hug again. Guess where I'm having my tea on Wednesday? It's great timing as they're back for Mothering Sunday so they're coming over here for a meal next Sunday, can't wait.
Have a nice evening!0 -
Good evening everyone,
I have had some sort of virus I think, following on from Thursday's migraine, so I haven't felt much like posting.
I feel better tonight, just in time for work tomorrow. How typical?
Biggest hugs to all those needing them. I've only felt rough for a few days, and I know some of you feel worse than this on a regular basis.
On the plus side, we managed to rescue a lost toad from the garden (it's gone to our friend's pond), and we took ds for a walk on the beach this afternoon to collect some shells. I also finally managed to do the ironing. Housework will have to wait until in the week and next weekend I'm afraid.
Take care all of you.0 -
Hiya I'm a bit late posting, actually it's tomorrow now for me.
Shez I hope your Mum has a restful flight  :rotfl:Trust me, it's sooooooo long, I feel sorry for her. You will have to give us updates how she's going throughout her holiday.
MrsMix
Smokey I hope everything has improved since you last posted.
Ruby <hugs> :grouphug:
Haribo All MIL's are lovely. Didn't you know. Especially X ones.
Weather is a bit overcast here today. Fancy that. Can you see a pattern. I've got a bit of work today as I did nothing much over the weekend. DD was here so we vegged out and enjoyed each other's company. I hope you all get a good nights sleep. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. WRinklies home from TObago! I was kind and got my MIL some supplies, milk, eggs, hm bread and some fruit for her return. She had a fab time with my parents, they seemed to spend most of the time on the terrace of my sis's house.I'm sooooooo jealous!
Change of plan and started a rubber chicken today, so that ds could have chicken dinner before long drama rehearsal, got reduced price swede, cabbage and did boulangere potatoes. Pud was (reduced price) strawberries and pineapple (Aldi 59p). Was a good value meal and there is the stock that I boiled the chicken in with soup mix in at the moment. Chicken strippings will make a meal on rice with some sauce and the rest of the Xmas ham. Have a big stash of vegi stuff in the freezer that dd can have her pick from.
You all sound as if you have had good meals today."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

WRinklies home from TObago! .
 :eek:You'll be booted off OS for saying stuff like that. Seeing as Granny & CM isn't online atm I really have to defend them.
Excuse me, but they are not wrinkles. They are laugh lines.
We're just all very happy people.
