    Morning everyone

Sorry not been around in a few days what with life and all. dd18 went back home yesterday. her exbf dropped the keys off to her on friday so now he knows where i live - great. I didn't want her to go back but a friend is staying with her for a few days. her exbf still has stuff at her house so I suppose that will be an excuse for him to pester her again. I am out in a minute to meet a dear friend for coffee and tears - we met in a Women's Refuge years ago - she was moving out as i was moving in - and she has been wonderful this week keeping me grounded while all my buttons were being pushed.

have a great day and hugs to all

In amongst all this I have been asked out this week - woo hoo. I'm not sure if I'm going to or not for various reasons but it's nice to be asked.
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Tru, just a note of caution (sorry), if you cut off the strings you pull through the heading tape, you will not be able to unknot and straighten the curtains out again to wash them - depends on whether you're like me and constantly forget to clean them or not ;)

I didn't know you were supposed to straighten them out for washing, I always just bung them in the machine as they are :rotfl:

Lots of ((Hugs)) to Redruby, Smoky, PP, Kyle and anybody else going through the mill at the moment

    Welcome to Squiggly and MOT

Plans for today are to get the house sorted out and get everything ready for work and pre-school. Our bedding is on the wash and I need to get DH to help me flip our materess. Apart from doing our bed I need to empty the ironing basket which should'nt take to long as for once its not to full.

Apart from that I have no idea whether we will get summonded to MIL for a post-mortom of the last week. I really hope not but it is likely. I've put a oyster of gammon in the slow cooker for our tea so that if its not eaten then we can have it cold tomorrow.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning All

At work yet again. Have to say I think the job interview on Friday went really well. They want me to go back this week for a trial session and are "keen to progress my application". So I'm keeping everything crossed that they offer me something. It was a lovely building and the people seemed very nice too.

Spent the weekend at my sister's. Cooked for her and BIL on Friday - carbonara. And BIL did fish pie for us last night.

Having my favourite of roast chicken this evening. Had duck legs during the week, so I'm hoping Mum kept the fat to do the roast potatoes in.

Archerfish had a lot of click throughs today which was good. Been checking some old cashback sites. Think I should really quit some of them as I don't tend to use them and they all offer the same things.

Entered a few comps this morning and still addicted to a piggy post on the mortgage free board.

    Hope everyone's ok

Redruby.....difficult to sit tight, but probably all you do at present...hugs to you and DD:

Stefejb...hugs to you and DD...good that you have a friend to lean on.

Hugs to every one else who needs or wants one

Welcome newbies...ignore the insanity and you will be fine!

tru...if you can get a wooden broom handle they make a good window pole and cost very little

Early lunch to-day, at last enough people here to cook turkey I have had in freezer since before Christmas, so that will create lots of room in big freezer.

    Have a good day all...

Hi everyone. Haven't read all the thread yet.
OH took me out for a lovely meal last night-made a nice change and cheered me up no end. I even put a colour on my hair yesterday-to hide my grey roots!!!!
N9eav. I was with direct line for several years and thought they were brilliant, however, my car insurance was due for renewal in november, I got the usual renewal quote from direct line and rang a broker who my OH does his insurance through. The broker madoc & rhodes quoted £70 cheaper than Direct line (for exactly the same cover but the excess better). Direct line (when I phoned them) dod offer to match it but not beat it. My argument was if they could match it why couldn't they give me a better quote in the first place so I went with madoc and rhodes broker.hope this helps.
dlb I can relate to insurance policies (supposedly tailored for women) being extremely expensive and not moneysaving at all! I have rang a few of them for a quote in the past and the prices quoted were nothing short of extortion!!!
Had a lay in this am. Think one of my girls think they're boys today!!! Gone to football field for a kick about!!! unless its the pull of the fact that there will be boys there!¬!!:p
By the way chocolate cake DD made yesterday was gorgeous-she made twinks hobnobs last night and they are lovely too!!!
I know it's a bit off topic but... I have been saving some seeds out of the peppers/capsicums we get. Can they be grown? and will they bear fruit please? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am cr*p at growing plants. I once had a prayer plant and even it didn't have a prayer of surviving at my house!!!
Hope all are having good sundays. (((hugs))) to all who need or want them
Right, I'm supposed to be speed cleaning this am. gotta go!!!

If youdo not want to use a broom handle as a curtain pole then a length of copper or aluminium pipe from the ironmongers makes a nice curtain pole.

You can use little door knobs as filials.

    ((((SMOKEY)))))

    ((((RUBY))))))

Have all my daughters home for :j :j the weekend!!!!

Made home made scotch pancakes and bacon for brekkie and have roast potatoes, asparagus, broccoli ,cheese sauce and chicken kiev for lunch. DH and I are having pork chops cooked in the slow cooker.

DD(22) has very sore throat and cannot swallow so have a pan of broccoli and asparagus soup for her on the hob.

Went to visit elderly aunt yesterday and when I was making tea I managed to spill scalding water over my arm! Put it under a cold tap straight away and dressed it when I got home a few hours later. The pain is lessening and I can manage to still do stuff so it could have been worse.

The consultant wants to see my aunt on Monday and as uncle is 92 and very frail have a nasty feeling what is likely to happen.

Going to check on the soup .

Lovely to see Squiggley and Mum of Twins.

    Scuzz

Hope you get the job as you deserve to be appreciated.

Afternoon all.....................((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to those who need one.........

I slept mich better last night, but could not wake up this morning.....did not get out of bed until well after 10am.

My friend Em called round for a cuppa, she lives in a studio apartment and gets a bit depressed at times, so she toddles round for a drink and a chat...she has just gone, so we had a quick lunch of chhese and crackers with an apple................I took chicken breasts out of the freezer for supper, might stuff them with sage and onion, usually use cream chese with garlic, or apricot stuffing, but don't have any of either.

Its a dull nasty looking day, OH is complaining he has sore ears, but then he will wear his hat above his ears rather than pulling it down over them.......he is taking paracetamol.......

I need to go and put the towels etc in for a wash, hoping both machines are empty, I have to split them, the towels are big, so heavy when wet and the machines labour if I put them all in one.

    Cherrio for now.........

PS..............As Victor Meldrew would say....'I don't believe it'.....I have just checked my bank account, and the dopey b*****s at Windsor Life have put £544.82 into our bank account, which represents 3 payments of the annual amount we get from them for OH's annuity!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give up, they owe us £62..............they obviously have got it round their necks.........I have transferred the money into my savings account, so it is ringfrenced, and when they decide that they want it back it is there and I will get some interest on it...............It beggars belief.......but just now I have over £500 which does not belong to me sitting in my bank account!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
