Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24rd February 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone.
Up early today, I think a curry last night had a lot to do with it.
I am searching about for car insurance for the OH, her renewal came yesterday and it seemed quite higher than expected. I used one of the compare sites and already saved £40 from about 10 other companies. So it's switch time. The funny thing was Tesco did not even give a quote on their own comparison site. Hastings at £136 fully comp on a Fiesta for a year looks the best.
Well When it gets light I will take the dog out to get a paper. Not that the dog wants a paper mind you.
Church and then lazy Sunday home.
I tried playing PS3 with my son last night, but kept on getting blown up, he thought it was hilarious. Wait till he tries to drive in 2 months time! :rotfl:
Eeek. in fact 6 weeks... I bet the new insurance quote won't be £136!!!!
Well have a nice day

I have found Tescos to be one of the most expensive car insurance companys closley followed by any that claim to be for women!!!!! Mine is due for renewal in May and in the 6 years iv been on the road iv swapped companys every year!!
Up early as ds1 has quarter final cup match at 10am, and dd is due at a party at 12.30, so im up wrapping presents and ironing, as we will only have a 5 minute turn around (thats is ds1 match doesnt go to extra time !!)
I have already prepared dinner which is full roast chicken dinner, have to get everything ready for the kids returning to school tommorow (yesssssssssss) and hopefully then spend the afternoon chilling infront of a film.

Morning N9eav and dlb and all who come later.
Just having a nice quiet cuppa before the boys get up. N9eav have you tried Direct Line? Have been with them for a few years and they seem competitive for us.
Having fish for dinner tonight spent a lot of time yesterday after my bike ride, baking. Made two pizzas from scratch, a traybake and pasta for dinner. Need to make a loaf of bread today and go and pick an item from Argos plus some oil for my car which seems to be getting through a little at the moment:rotfl: but as long as it keeps going and the engine doesn't blow up i'm happy:o
~Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
Smokey, hope the news for you is better today.

Good Morning All
Enjoying a cup of tea and a surf, think might look at the Bingo sites but suspect they will be very quiet at the moment.
No football for us today but obviously the big match is on the telly later so will make sure we have our dinner all done and dusted by then.
Ended up not doing much yesterday apart from endless running about so have some ironing today. Need to persuade OH to take DS to Asda to have a photo done as we need it for our watersports club membership.
Roast chicken with all the trimmings for lunch.

Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them. I shall have to backtrack to yesterday's thread but extra hugs to Smokeybabe and Red Ruby.
Have a day of domestic trivia planned for today as we get the small person ready to go back to school. All his uniform and PE kit are now ready but have just found his Cubs uniform screwed up in the back of his cupboard which needs to be clean for Tuesday. Consequently am now putting an unexpected wash through the machine. Oh goody!
Plans for today other than putting said washing out will be sugar soaping the kitchen walls with OH prior to painting and if I get the time or am so inclined cleaning the upstairs windows in between helping the small person work on his Hobbit Hole. It's steak and kidney pud for tea tonight...first time I've ever bought raw kidneys [it was meant to be liver but I didn't read the label Doh!] so shall have to see how it turns out.
This evening I shall watch Time Team and probably do some more taking up of school trousers...it was meant to be done this week but I ran out of time so he'll have to wear his old ones tomorrrow. Must also phone a friend...I have a horrible feeling her latest relationship may be over so am hoping she's OK.
Have a good day!

Just nipped in to say good morning.
Planning on having a half hour gardening challenge with OH if it doesn't rain. Chicken for lunch and then will make some stock and have soup later.
Redruby - been thinking about you - let me know how you are getting on, this is not about you, you have done nothing wrong, it is about him, he needs to find a way to communicate better than waiting till you go out and packing his stuff up. My advice would be to wait and let him contact you.
Have a good day all - will check in later.

Morning everyone,
can I come & join your daily thread? Although I may not make it daily....lol. I often lurk & sometimes post on here, am a real OS girl at heart but don't always have the time/energy.... F/t student doing a 6 month unpaid full-time work placement, and work part-time, and single parent to 3 stroppy teenage/nearly teenage daughters... Oh, and just taken on mortgage....
Girls stayed over at their dads last night for the first time in over a year... But I was still awake crack of dawn as usual, & been on PC for over an hour now, oops! So getting up shortly, essay to work on today. Gonna make a fish pie as I got a reduced bargain of a box of 3 types of fish yesterday, and had a £1 box of prawns from somewhere in the fridge too.
And might dig out my Panasonic breadmaker I bought a few months ago but don't seem to have got to grips with yet...Made a loaf but it was soft rather than crusty. Pizza base dough was a soggy mess & I had to bin it. Banana bread is the only thing I do in it! But really want to get "the knack" with using it. Got a brand new kitchen (as of this week) so feel newly inspired!

Hello everyone
(((Redruby)))
((((Smokey))))
:j :j and :grouphug: to those that need them.
I've been trying to read the daily this week, even if I haven't written on it. It's hectic being back at work. However, I had to leave work early on Tuesday due to feeling a little peaky. I eventually went to the doc (to tick that "been to doctor's" box at school) who said that I'd had a viral infection.
We had such a busy day yesterday, darting here there and everywhere. There was a rugby match (don't ask...., let's just say that I will be volunteering my services as coach ) and we had to zip back from there to meet friends for a meal. This involved me trying to get changed in the car. I was feeling really chuffed with myself until I had to take off a t-shirt and put on a smart shirt. Luckily, we were travelling down a back road so no one saw me flashing my bra. :rotfl:
These friends took us to the theatre too in our little town. It was a production put on by the boarding school here. The singing was incredible. Beautiful, mature voices. Great acting too. It was far better than alot of "professional" productions that I've seen.
DH is helping his big sister and her husband move house today. Well, this is only part 1 of the move. They're moving out of their old house and in with my MIL and FIL as the people that they are selling to wanted to be in v v v quickly. Their new house isn't ready to complete on yet, but at least they have the "luxury" of moving in with the in laws.
I'm having a day by myself. I've got stacks and stacks of planning to do and sorting, especially as Ofsted should be coming to visit in the next couple of weeks at some point.
Anyway, I'd better go and have a scout around MSE before having no excuse to faff any more!

Good morning everyone,
May I join your thread too please:o ?
Been up since 5.30am, couldn't sleep - blooming nuisance as kids at their father's and could have had a lie in!
Not much planned for today, cooking chicken breasts stuffed with garlicky lowfat cream cheese and piles of veg for tea tonight (when twins get home) and roasties for those that can have - not me as started WW on Thursday and have to lose this weight.
It was sunny but now looks like it may rain so a lazy day me thinks!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
