    Hi
I'm a costco novice but have decided that's the place to get DS's birthday cake....elsewhere its costing me £££! and I'm having a big bash so need lots of cake!
Trouble is just how big are these cakes??? Can't find this info anywhere.
I'm ordering a photo picture cake topper off ebay and can't decide if I ought to go for an A4 or A4+fairy cake toppers??
    help!!!

    "At a guess, i would say the cakes are 18" x 10" "

I would say touchmyfood...'s guess is about right - think A3 rather than A4, ie twice as big. The cake is very rich too, so you don't need huge portions.

You can have them write whatever you like in icing on the top too, I think its 24 hrs notice.

They are not always the cheapest, I noted down the price of a 46" TV there the other day and found it for £150 less (including delivery) online.

However, my current TV that I bought in 2001 cost £1600 there when the cheapest I could get it elsewhere at the time was £2100.

Did the one on line come with a 3 yr warranty - we bought our telly there a couple of months ago and it was slightly cheaper on line but didn't have anything like the Costco warranty.

What is the Costco warranty on products like Televisions?

And does anyone happen to know what benefits the staff get on these products?

Does anyone know how much they sell their big blocks of cheddar for?

Just wanted to thank everyone for their contributions so far. When I started this thread I'd no idea it would get so many views! action-smiley-033.gifaction-smiley-033.gifaction-smiley-033.gif

Thanks to the person who mentioned contact lens solutions. Can't think why I'd never looked at them before (maybe because they are on the way out and I've usually spent too long in there already?). I've been forking out a fortune for the Boots preservative free (peroxide) solution. Costo sell 2 alternatives to this (I bought Ciba AOSept plus). What a saving!

Also the 95% meat sausages mentioned on here. Unlike most others they hardly shrink!! 1.2kg £3.99.

I'm also interested in the cheese. Someone mentioned it before but there are several types, some is in the big chiller cabinets and some (more expensive) with the deli type stuff. Any recommendations? I've just bought the Ford Farm vintage mature but haven't tried it yet (£5.75/kg). I usually like cheddar such as Seriously Strong or Colliers.

Keep this going and thanks again icon7.gif

Would have to agree on the Contact Lens solution. I used to get min from PostOptics as they were a lot cheaper than the high street. But CostCo is cheaper again by a fair margin. I get the 3 months supply boxes of Easy Sept again peroxide based but come in 360ml bottles so last that bit longer.

Yes I may get the other brand with the bigger bottles next time if that works out even cheaper (?). I think the smaller AOSept bottles will be useful for holidays ( It was a nuisance that Boots stopped the travel size of their own brand solution).

Struggled with that myself, travel sized bottles. Ended up using a old bottle of Saline Solution that I refill as it's an 100ml Bottle saves carrying the big bottles around, plus could get it on the plane.
    Cheers
