I know a lot about Costco, but how much cheaper is it than normal retailers? If it is that good, I can pop down my local one.0

Been a firm fav with us for years now since we first discovered Costco whilst on holiday in US. I regularly shop there every two weeks or so and pick up most of my meat and fish (very good qual, have even started to do free range chicken and at about £7.00 was a huge extra large size bird) and fruits/veg from there. I use a lot of the fresh stuff and find that for the same amount I spend in the supermarket per week, I can get away with two weeks worth from Costco. The bread is cheaper as it is a double pack, croissants and bagels are yum and freeze really well. The catering packs of ham taste good and are worth the money you pay for them considering the quantity you get and that at a regular supermarket, you would get a lot less for maybe a pound or so less.
The cheese blocks are really good value and even yoghurt etc. Eggs - omega free range well worth it. The frozen prawns/shrimps are also good value and of very good quality. Other regular buys - T.roll, K.roll, washing powder, dishwasher tabs which last ages, tuna tins, soy sauce, maple syrup - real deal in a large gallon well worth £11.00, Madagascar vanilla - brill flavour, oregano, fresh pizza, ice cream, cheesecake (used to have a 7.99 one which was really nice but haven't seen recently), frozen paella - dh loves, roganjosh - good value with lots inside enough for two hearty meals, chips, vitamins, shaving stuff, ziplock bags....... I also like that they always have sampling stations so you can try and buy.
Christmas time is good too as a lot of the toys are cheaper, the christmas foodstuffs of v.good quality/price and original.
As you can see, do a lot of shopping there!! Quite frankly have found it worth it generally for foodstuffs etc. Electricals on the whole are cheaper than high street shops but also what usually attracts us is the three year warranty given on all electricals - no quibble when returning. I also like that you can get some US items here - Skippy butter, oeros until recently, craft stuff, home deco, barbecues - which dh goes gaga over!!0 -

Can anyone tell me if Costco have any breadmakers in stock at the moment? Preferably in the Bristol store? My breadmaker has bitten the dust and I need to replace it and I can't get to Costco until Saturday.....Piglet

Just a suggestion in case there is panic buying of Breadmakers - why don't you phone them up and ask 0117 916 0130 ?0 -

I'm not predicting a run on breadmakers, just trying to find out whether Costco are carrying breadmakers at the moment as their stock obviously changes all of the time.
I'll try and ring tomorrow if I get chance...Piglet

A lot of their products are good value, especially when on offer. However, IMO, their fresh fruit and veg is well over priced.
The veggies are not cheap, but are good value in as much as the quality of fruit and veg is much higher than you can find in the supermarket.
They sell 12 oranges for 4.99. This is more expensive than the supermarket, but the quality of these oranges is second to none. I've never seen this size, or flavour of navel oranges in any supermarket - not even Waitrose.
2kg of organic carrots - fresh and delicious - 1.99
I just can't wait for their brilliant seedless spanish watermelons to come into season - they are usually about 3.49 and quite massive (you need a good sized fridge).
Could I find cheaper with similar quality? Yes, maybe on the odd occasion at a market or fruit&veg shop - but more often than not the stuff going cheap there has been in cold storage for ages and tastes of nothing, or is about to go off - hence selling cheap.
Just my opinion of course :-)0 -
Would someone mind posting the offers for the next couple of weeks again please.
