Tobie wrote:Thanks Dave2986. I have tried again making sure the cursor was at the start of the box and nothing after entry. I did get a change of message though. It now says the user is not yet registered! I have had the account for well over a month. Incidently, I have sent four Emails on this subject and never got a reply. I have to say the support staff sound completely untrained except for a few phrases they repeat parrot fashion.
Tobie, I had the same prob last week, just check that you are not doing what I was doing, reversing the ID and password, the password is only 6 digits and the ID is 10Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Yes, I saw your posting and the reply you received from them, which clearly talked about there being only one problem, namely that of a spelling mistake of pluralism when it apparently should merely be a singularity.
Nevertheless there is a 'choice box' in the 'Linked Accounts' Transfer section. If only one Linked Account can be permitted, then there needn't be a choice given, need there?
This so called 'spelling mistake' is repeated about 6 times. It isn't a spelling mistake at all!
The fact that 'you can't' is not enough for me. I want to know , "Why?"
If INGDirect can give a facility for SEVERAL LINKED ACCOUNTS, each needing to go through a security procedure to qualify, then surely so can ICICI HiSave?
What possible reasons can there be that are not the same reasons which have to be also pertinent to INGDirect? The truth is - there are NO reasons. But there is this pluralism of terminology and there are the choices on the web pages.
IMHO - one of their senior managers is guilty of a misinterpretation. SIMPLE!
But they are most probably too arrogant and intransigent to admit to it. It is this latter than I personally have assessed as being the only LOGICAL REASON, and which failure to admit to, I cannot tolerate.0 -
Well my password arrived today and so logged on first time with no problems, and also much faster than the sign-up process. Account balance correct at £1 so far so so good. But am still concerned about other postings in this thread, especially eagleeye although I do not know if their Indian banks work differently to the UK based. Anyway, leaeving at £1 at least until the end of the month as want to see if correct interest, i.e. gross, is added as sent the R85, and got acknowledgement, in middle of August, and will keep monitoring this thread in meantime (even though it scares me!)0

Hi
To keep eveyone up to date with developments. I have managed to get a few hundred quid transferred from my current account to my ICICI account but it took 7 days! At the moment it is shown in my ICICI account but hasn't been removed from my current account. Yippee! I don't think I'll spend any of it just in case!

Has anyone done a BACS transfer from their current account to their ICICI account? How long did it take to show? I am aware that you have to have a linked account to transfer in and out of I was wondering wether BACS was also possible?0

I have found ICICI very slow.
Filled in online application form 1/7/05 after spotting it on this website.
Did not get password until mid August and could only activate account then.
Transfers in (after the initial one)are taking 7/8 days and 12 days for the money to actually leave your bank account-very strange. They claim 3 days but it just is not happening. Is there a fault with the ICICI Direct Debit system?
Also when you transfer money out it is immediately shown onscreen as having left your account although it still takes 3 days to get to your bank.
I am worried that transfers are leaving money suspended in the 'ether' and not earning interest and I am really unsure about ICICI.
As with other readers the ICICI customer services is at best a shambles at worst deliberately unhelpful. Calls are never returned, emails unanswered or the replies are nonsense and there is a general feeling of chaos.
I'm staying with ING for the time being until ICICI sort themselves out.0 -
Have now done 3 small payments into the account, every one of them have taken exactly 8 working days from the day of the request to the day it shows as a credit in the account.
Does anyone have experience of it ever getting quicker for subsequent inpayments ?
Also payments #1 and #3 have debited from my linked account but payment #2 has not.0 -

masonic wrote:Unfortunately, ICICI have set it up so that every time they request a dd payment, it shows up as a final payment, so the bank then cancels the dd.
I noticed that my last (and first larger payment) was marked Final Payment and wondered where the dd had gone. The payment did only take 3 working days but I guess what you are saying is that my next payment will prob take 8 days again as though it was the first one?
Not planning another biggie for a while so I might try £1 or something to see if it straightens itself out.0 -
Joined in July took three days, everything really smooth. Have used it online eversince and have had no problems.
Moving money in really easy. Haven't yet moved money out, do not intend to with those interest rates.
Access to account on line no problems. Really quick.
Very Impressed at the moment.0
