2 breaks are at the seaside (Yarmouth) where we're hoping for good weather so we can just play on the beach (but already have Tesco vouchers in hand in case it's not so good, along with a list of who takes them within travelling distance).
The other is in York - three boys, all train mad, and a free musuem you/they can spend forever in makes for a very cheap break - I know as we've done it before.
I have plenty of free outings shortlisted to fill in the rest of the 6 weeks.
Last year we just did day trips - most on Tesco vouchers again, and the ones that weren't I had other vouchers for or they were free - we actually got an amazing variety packed in for surprisingly little money - wildlife at Sealife and Twycross, natural history in the shape of dinosaurs at a local (free) museum, steam trains (again, lol), a cathedral, picnics, the Space Centre, a bit of plane spotting at the East Midlands Aeropark, and a couple of miscellaneous days at free events that were local.
Wow your organised Earth Mother and *goes to bang head off a nearby wall* I had forgotton about the free museum in York.
We're not too far (we're in Hull) and we have friends there so we could certainly rustle up a day or two there.
Can't believe I hadn't thought of that before, I only got married there an all, duh.
Oooh brain activity alert, they also do Viking reanactment days as well.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Triker - don't forget you can use the Tesco vouchers at The Deep. Not sure about Yorvik though (will have to look - had forgotten about them)
(edit - just looked and no Yorvik centre on tesco deals - drat! lol)
I suppose your kids are beyond the easily impressed ages - I know my lot (eldest is almost 7) are perfectly happy driving over the Humber Bridge and stopping at the visitor centre for half an hour - in fact our route up there is often diverted just to do that, lol
As for organised, I've always been one of life's planners, and with money the way it is, I just have to be that much further in advance.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

I wish our family lived overseas, and not just for the cheap holidays :rotfl:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
