We sacrifice holidays because we choose to have animals hun - anywhere we go would have to be dog friendy ;)

I just bought a 28 pack of Walkers today for packed lunches for the kids, so I'm off to have a look :D

Spud do you collect Tesco clubcard points as they have quite a few deals available via their 'deal' website? Good for days out.xx

I do, but the last few mailings have gone on food, because we've been so broke :p

I know this isnt the best way to spend them. I'll try to do better with the next lot ;)

Hey Spud if there's an offer on Walkers crisps perhaps I can see if we can get hold of some tokens for you, so you can use them. We like crisps here and my DD is addicted to them.

Joke. A man in a car pulls up besides 2 bags of crisps and says 'hop in I'll give you a lift'.

The bags of crisps say....'no thanks, we're walkers'......geddit.:D

  • We are very lucky to be in the position to be able to budget in a couple of hols this year.

4 night Sun hol beginning of April £102 plus budgeted spending £150-200 (using tesco points for two days free entertainment at local theme park).

A week camping BH August £280 ( camping and all equipment brought before LBM) budgeted spend £300-400 depending on how the years finances are going.

Tesco points are excellent for hols and days out, last year paid for our Haven hol. Not top notch but still a peak time holiday free except spending money. Also used for a years legoland pass.

We've done the Travelodge deal from January (£9 a room) and actually have three over-night breaks over the summer this year rather than one full week.

2 breaks are at the seaside (Yarmouth) where we're hoping for good weather so we can just play on the beach (but already have Tesco vouchers in hand in case it's not so good, along with a list of who takes them within travelling distance).

The other is in York - three boys, all train mad, and a free musuem you/they can spend forever in makes for a very cheap break - I know as we've done it before.

I have plenty of free outings shortlisted to fill in the rest of the 6 weeks.

    :)

Last year we just did day trips - most on Tesco vouchers again, and the ones that weren't I had other vouchers for or they were free - we actually got an amazing variety packed in for surprisingly little money - wildlife at Sealife and Twycross, natural history in the shape of dinosaurs at a local (free) museum, steam trains (again, lol), a cathedral, picnics, the Space Centre, a bit of plane spotting at the East Midlands Aeropark, and a couple of miscellaneous days at free events that were local.

    :)

We bought a big bag today Triker, and I saw the advert on the bag. I just assumed it was related to the Brit awards :rotfl:
