Canvas Republic not delivering or answering

  • I ordered a 3 part abstract canvas from this company costing £69.99 plus p&p.It arrived 10 days later but unfortunately the colours on the canvas were not the same as that of the picture on their website.I contacted them via their message leaving service online explaining the problem, the canvas i ordered was supposed to be chocolate and beige but the one they sent me was actually chocolate and a goldy yellow and that didn,t match my lounge.I got an e-mail back from them within a couple of hours apologising for the error and asking me to return the canvas which i duely did.7 days later i received the replacement and i,m very pleased with it so going by my experience i can,t fault the company.A good product for a very reasonable price i think in some cases you just need to be a bit patient as they are obviously very busy but do care about their customers.

The address canvas republic have on their website is a mailbox facility at Dalton house. The website maybe illegal as it is registered in the name of Tyler roberts and says he is a non-trading individual. They do not register a business address.

Can you by any chance have a look and see if you can find the "Caps Lock" key on your keyboard,........then take a big fat finger and PRESS IT ONCE [ie switch it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

    Thank you.
  • Having costed the options available to get a favourite photograph blown up for a large white wall - I found Canvas Republic to definitely be the best value and also with an easy to use website - I couldn't fault them.

I contacted them with some questions about colour grading, and they responded promptly and patiently. I sent my image in, and specifically requested the day I wanted them to deliver, which they did so on time, and I was more than happy with the results.

I would recommend their easy and friendly approach.

I ordered 6 very large canvas from these people at the beginning of May and despite their promises of delivery last week, I have still had nothing. Although the quality of their canvas is very good, from my past experiences with them I would certainly not recommend them if you want a reliable delivery service or open communications.
They have recently changed their phone number, their "online support" isn't and available option and their great big declaration of "72 hours dispatch" is utter rubbish. In fact, I would be interested to know if anyone has reported them to trading standards for all their unsubstantiated claims. I work for a business that provides canvas images for our customers and you wouldn't believe how frustrating it is dealing with Canvas republic.

There have been many instances where I gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped that their promises of improved service would be forthcoming, but unfortunately, they never get it right

Read a lot of negative reviews in this thread, so just wanted to post about our recent experience.

We read all of the complaints above before we ordered, but we didn't find anything we wanted anywhere else, so we took the chance and hoped for the best.

Overall it worked out well. Placed the order for two canvases, received an email about a week later that they were on the way and two days later the prints arrived.

Prints match the website - what you see is what you get (at least in our case).

Only complaint is cost of shipping. They charged $80 to send the two prints (50 pounds) which I thought was steep (We are in the US, Los Angeles, but still....). That said, they arrived very quickly, but I would have been happy to wait a few more days and pay a bit less.

Despite reading this thread about delays I decided to chance ordering from Canvas Republic since as long as I got the pictures I wasn't too bothered by them being late. I placed my order on Friday evening and received my pictures today. I am thrilled with them. They didn't quite meet the 72 hour dispatch promise but I'm not going to moan about 1 day.

The website does say it's under new management now so not sure if that has made a difference.

We got an email yesterday telling us they had been dispatched along with a tracking number so we could check the delivery status.

I'm glad I took the chance cos I love my pictures :D
  • We found canvas republic via google around a year ago now and found some lovely canvases. We were just browsing for ideas at the time and not looking to buy, but over the past year we have been in many shops and on lots of different websites looking for some artwork and haven't found anywhere else that sell anything similar that we like after visiting the website (and at such a good price).

Last weekend (Saturday 1st August, 2009), with a canvas off the website still in mind after all this time we decided to order the 'Sanctity II Cascading Box Canvas Set' for our front room. When ordering we did think the delivery was pricey (£10.00) but it's 5 large canvases so what do you expect..? We ordered anyway and got an email confirming our order straight away, we received a second email after 3 working days saying our purchase had been dispatched and a day later (Thursday 6th August, 2009), 4 working days after ordering it, it has arrived and is up on the wall and we are very impressed with it :D

Thanks Canvas Republic, we will definately be browsing through the shop for more around the house!!
