Canvas Republic not delivering or answering

Can someone please advise us?
We ordered some art from Canvas Republic at the end of Jan, they took payment on 1st feb with estimated delivery of about 10 working days. On the 15th Feb they e mailed to say sorry about the delay, they were having trouble with their framers and some items being stuck in customs and they said they would deliver as soon as they could.
We gave them another week and then e mailed them to see if there was any news. No reply. We have rung them 6 times, and just get a message saying . 'please call later' ! There have been no replies to any e mails either.
It s not a huge amount of money, £50 but its the principal and we really like the art, its just what we want!! The website has loads of endorsements from t.v companies, who have used them for makeover shows etc.
What do we do now! Aaaaaaah!!!

If I'd have seen this post before ordering from Canvas Republic - I might have given them a miss. As it Stands, I ordered a Triptych on the 11th March and was promised 7-10 working days.
It is now well overdue, the money has left my account and they are not answering the Telephone. Like RabbitWarren I just get "Please Try Later" and the Line hangs up.
I did receive an email from them three days ago in reply to an email I sent regarding the overdue order and they promised to ship it that day - it obviously didn't.
There is nothing worse than trying to talk to a Black Hole - especially one that has already swallowed £50.
Does anyone know what recourse I have if the order does not turn up soon?
Regards
Kevin Russell

Just an update:
My Picture from Canvas Republic arrived last Saturday - after 19 working days. A note in the Parcel apologised for the delay citing a Nationwide shortage of Frames as the reason for the delay and that they paid extra for a Saturday delivery to speed things along.
My thoughts are that this frame shortage seems to have gone on for a while judgin by the previous posts in this forum so I would suggest that they alter the delivery times from the "7-10 days" that they quote to "up to 28 days" to be more realistic. Then it will be a pleasant surprise if it arrives earlier.
I checked out their feedback on eBay (only-dreemin) and it is very good. This suggests to me that they spend a lot of time pandering to their eBay customers for fear of getting bad feedback. They should spend equal energy pleasing their Web Site customers.
They other problem is their telephone support - telephoning a company who you've just paid £50 and getting a message "please try again later" puts you on edge.

ooo! Well excuse me if I didnt reply quick enough.
There was a reply from Canvas Republic and I received my art. I was not really keen to continue the correspondence with them on this Forum.
It is all sorted now and I cant say I particulary thought about looking back at this post 2 months later. I was just browsing today and happened to see someone else has had a similiar problem.
Not sure what you would have liked me to say really , it was all said in Canvas republics reply , so that was the end of that. Sorry.

I called them after 10 days and a person there said mine was being dispatched the same day and should receive the next. I waited received nothing and then an email saying the machine was broken... and kindly offered a free canvas on top of my order. I rang and a bloke there said there was a guy looking at the machine so would get an answer about this later on. 2 days later I ring and I get told someone is there looking at it and to call back in an hour for a definitive answer. I call back and only a answer machine of "please call back later"...!!!!!!!
They seems like a friendly company and always courteous on the phone but their service seems very questionable as they seem to have delays ALL the time!! It's the weekend and if that damn machine isn't fixed by monday I expect my money back as quickly as they took it!0 -
The company seem as though they're a fairly honest bunch of people who can produce some good canvases, but the management is shocking.
Delays are commonplace, they often don't answer the phone (my assumption being that they're too busy to do so), they don't answer your emails particularly quickly, and to top it all the colour your print comes out may well not match that on the website remotely.
Their after sales care and customer service is appalling. Although they're friendly on the phone and seem to be reasonable people, they run this business terribly. I wouldn't worry about them stealing your money and not delivering your prints - they're not out to do that. However, if you want good customer service, good after sales care, speedy delivery and a good colour match, I'd go elsewhere!0 -
I too have experienced the delays the others have mentioned, i purchased 2 sets of prints totalling close to £190.00, so when my prints hadn't arrived in the stated time, i was naturally a little concerned.
After eventually getting through on the phone, i was informed of a delay by a very pleasant man on the phone and assured my prints were very close to being despatched.
A few days after that call i was sent an email saying my goods were on the way, 16 working days after ordering!.
I chose this firm solely on price and was now beginning to question my judgement.
Next day, the package arrived and WOW!!.
The sets were perfect, very well made, excellent colour, exactly as i had hoped for.
My sister has since ordered, yes they were late aswell but she is over the moon too!.
In summary, you'll probably have to wait longer than you'd hoped (i also assume popularity is the problem with meeting lead times) but you will get an absolute bargain (compared to others' prices).
Me personally, i can live with sketchy delivery times if i am getting something this good for so little in terms of money. I can't speak for everyone but i am well chuffed.:j0 -
Like Select cars says - the Canvasses are very good and when they eventually arrived they finished off my Bedroom nicely. But the after sales service is 5 out of 10 at the most.
Canvass Republics Terms and Conditions still state 7-10 days on delivery, so despite their comments below (11th March) they haven't or aren't going to provide more realistic delivery times.
Sadly, forums like this are often the only way to vent frustrations and as a Web Developer - I know how long negative comments stay in Search Engines.

Yawn. Newbies signing up to defend a company with quote-tastic statements like the one above?
Surely CanvasRepublic hasn't come back, to, um, canvas support for their shamed company?!By replying to this post you are agreeing to my Terms and Conditions which state that I am correct0
