But aren't new builds more sell-able later?
OMG SS post this in your "Wanna NB thread"....
and absorb all the responses:eek: .
On this board there are links to reposession auctions (that you watch live on line) www.eigroup.co.uk and the resale prices of NB are currently 40% lower than original purchase price (say 2006).
We struggled to buy in 1989 (£60k) as prices went down...bought Victorian detached cottage and renovated the entire thing over 6 yrs (whilst interest rates rose and rose)...this cushioned the negative equity...but we sold in 1996 for??
£60k
but traded up at the lowest point in the market...so choosing a small, unmodernised house that could accomodate a family (if that's your aspiration) at a later date is a good move long term. You may have to compromise on location.we did.
Try and find the Panorama thread.....worth a read....the amount you are intending to borrow is big.0 -

Are we still talking about houses?
I've had three - bought my first in 2000, then upgraded in 2002. Then split up with the ex and had to move back home
But have spent the last two years sorting my bum out, bought a place and renovated it and now have saved enough pennies to buy my own little place. And it will be all mine:j And Chance's. :T0 -

Mine had lumps, which we thought were malignant but turned out benign (sp) then he lost a toe nail and got an infection. Think he might still need to have his toe amputated!
