Alreet again!
I'm just about to sign on the dotted for my first place (of my own) and just popped in to say.....I work in conveyancing - I'll do you a quote for your legal fees if you like! :j
Oh, and we need a stripper at the party.
:rotfl:
I think you'll find my fee's for stripping are more than yours are for conveyancing!
What the hell is conveyancing anyway? :rotfl:0 -

I'm sure we can come to an arrangement!
Conveyancing is the legal process of buying a house.
I'm buying a ground floor  But two beds and a garden so la pooch has his own room and somewhere to poop!0 -
Obviously a 30 year mortgage will mean that you pay more interest, but the monthly repayments will be more affordable. Perhaps you could start on a 30 year morgtgage, then if and when you can afford it, make overpayments to help bring the term down? How long you need to save for a deposit will depend on how much you earn, anmd the prices of the pads you're looking at.If you're desperate to leave the parents, maybe a shared house is an option? If 2 or more of you rented a place, you wouldn't have to pay so much rent so could save more for a place to buy?I really do understand your desire to buy a place of your own.Another thought, sorry if it's already been asked, do you have a girlfriend who at some point in the future you might want to buy with (or boyfriend as my assumption probably isn't very PC!)?Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams

So the guests have the garden if they come to stay?

And how much is conveyancing these days? :think:0 -
Are you desperate for your own place? How about renting with some mates or moving into a shared house of some kind? It will be cheaper than renting on your own, or buying. I did this after I finished uni and was broke, and it was pretty good. Works out fairly cheap as you split the bills, council tax etc. My girlf and I just bought early last year once we had saved up 10% deposit. If we had given less deposit, we would have got stung with high fees.
We have got a 30 year mortgage but I don't see it as being too bad. I will be 57 when its paid off, which is not a bad age to retire (assume I don't remortgage and get a bigger house or something). But in reality, we hope to pay off a bit extra every time we get pay rises and stuff, so it should be able to get it down to 20 or 25 years. Obviously the down side is that 30 years is a long commitment and you would pay more interest over the longer period as well.0 -

Stop flirting with me!

No I'm single. Although I do have a life partner. My palm.

I would prefer my own place to be honest. A mate has suggested renting somewhere together before but it doesn't really appeal to me. I'm unsociable like that! :rotfl:
So with a 30 year mortgage it is simply to reduce the monthly payments as opposed to being able to borrow more? :think:0 -

Is that just a ploy to find out where I live and how much money I've got?
