I like top floor flats because you get to steal all the heat that rises from the apartments below :) It gets hot in summer but you burn a heck of a lot less fule in winter!

In that case I'll put you down as a volunteer to lug the fridge, washing machine etc up the stairs! ;)
  • We rent, but would love to buy. This house that we're in feels like our own because its got all our things in it.

See I've not even got a pot to pee in! :rotfl:

But it still feels like home? :)

LOL! Thank God for a strapping neighbour! My H nearly crushed my head like an egg between the fridge freezer and the wall trying to get in in the front door once they'd got it to the top. It was a lot taller than I'd bargained for - I'm used to only needing to check the width and depth :o we had to tilt it to get it through the door and then push it up from underneath as there was no width to the hallway. My head got in the way.

When we sold the flat, we sneakily tried to flog the fridge freezer to the girl buying the place. She was having none of it. On completion day we had to call the agent and tell them it was staying.

It was out the window or nothing. Mind you, it was a nice, nearly new silver one, I wouldn't have complained if someone had left it for me; until I tried to remove it from the flat :rotfl:
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • I suppose I'm abit like u. Stayed at home until 25 but just got too much. It was move out or get married and live at home - not a good idea! So we decided to rent and don't regret it but its alot more difficult to save for a house

Don't! Had enough issues helping my mate move twice! Actually it was more than that. Family home to flat, via big bloody courtyard! Then flat to storage, via courtyard again. Then storage to new place!

And all that for a couple of poxy beers!

    Gets too much don't it?

Don't get me wrong, I'll never have it easier. Pay naff all really and do NOTHING round the house! Gonna be a massive shock to me when I do move out. :rotfl:

But I need my own space rather than my bloody bedroom!
  • Anyone got any pro's and con's of 30 year mortgages?
  • Well I'd get a mortgage ova 45 yrs if it meant i could afford it! I mean apart from being old and still working, which for most of us is just being realistic, it means we can have something to call our own. Plus would be able to remortgage down the line and get it reduced.
Can anyone help me with my dilema?
My sister owns a house and is remortgaging this year. Can she put her house 'up' as collateral for us?
