I had NO idea we were talking about different machines! I actually have the one squeaky refers to! Sorry for the confusion, apprentice tycoon!
I'll give the blade a go. I've found a recipe in my Tightwad Gazette for foodprocessor bread.
The good thing about this model is that you can make yummie smoothies in the blender bit too!
Smoothies, bread, pizza dough, cakes, soup... No wonder I'm a little rounder than I'd like!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

I have the Tightwad Gazette too! I tried that recipe but came back to the ones on the back of the flour bags0 -
While we're discussing recipes, I've noticed 2 things mentioned on the board that I haven't found yet, one is a recipes bit and the other is a cleaning tips bit. Are these simply threads somewhere or is there a specific section for these kinds of question?
I'm making use of the fact the hubbie is off work to swat up (and have a bit of a chat.) He's lost his voice so we're getting on with bits and bobs without spending too much time together to avoid talking!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
They are both threads which are very long collections of tips. These have been indexed to help people find the tips and recipes more easily.
If you join the main Indexed Collections post you'll see that for each of the bigger threads you can can read the index, or join at the beginning of the thread itself so you can read it all, or join at the end so that you can add your own recipe or tip.
As a reminder...
You can find these in our "Indexed Collections" sticky at the top of the forum listing, or you can follow the clue in my signature any time you see it or...
..you can use the Indexed Collections link in the Blue Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-

Thanks both of you. I've had a quick look but I'm going to have to go get some work done or I may never leave the computer again. It's FAR too good.
Also, just been out planting garlic. Can't WAIT to try garlic bread with my very own bread AND organic garlic!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
We use our bread maker every couple of months. The only problem I have with it is that the bread doesn't "keep" for long i.e it's stale by next morning.
I know that this is the price for not having horrible additives in it, but does anyone have a way of getting the bread to last more than a day?0 -
YEP !!!

Cling film it and keep it in the fridge. The crust softens but otherwise the loaf is fine and mine do a week with no problems.
Others will be along to talk of bread bags from Lakeland any second now...Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. As for me I wrap the bread in foil and store in the bread bin - we get through a loaf every few days anyway, but it has never gone stale before we have finished it.Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0
