If you can't find them just post back and I'll give my typing fingers some exercise.

What a lovely thing! I'll have a good scout around and get back to you in a few days if I have no joy. x
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
  • Go for the BM.I bake cakes but trade them for things like haircuts with friends which helps against self indulgence, also the bread is so much more healthy for you that you'll feel better and fitter especially if you add seeds then you wil gain your essential fatty acids...but become thinny bread eater....good luck. its sooooo yummy and no nasty chemicals.

My kenwood book has instructions for white bread just using the knife blade if you're keen to get started without the dough hook?

Just to check, do you mean the Kenwood processor? you can use the blade for making dough with that but the only way to make bread in a Kenwood Chef table mixer is with a dough hook
If I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from

My sister and BIL smelt my son's HM bread with Poppy seeds - had a little bite - bought a breadmaker.

My Kenwood Food processor has the instructions for making bread with the knife blade. No dough hook.

if you think about it - making dough is not much different to making pastry - it's what happens to it after mixing that's different. :)

  • I can see where the confusion is I, and gingham ribbon are talking about this beast of a machine that you do need a dough hook for, as shown. Squeaky is pointing out that you can make bread in a processor, you can, I've tried but I can make a larger amount in one go in the Chef

For a pound and a half loaf depending on which ingredients you use and what offers you can take advantage of I reckon my bread costs me between 30 and 40 pence per loaf. I'm aiming to reduce that price by more careful shopping after all the tips in the breadmaking threads.

Perhaps there is a connection - my mother says that since she bought her bread machine she has become more "traditionally built" which makes me giggle every time :-)

I LOVE your mums description and I'm going to use it myself from now now :p
I never had to watch my weight until I hit the menopause at 48 and then from being 8st I've gradually crept up to about 91/2st and since I've only had my breadmaker a fortnight I can't blame it sadly :D But everyone who has posted is absolutely right the bread, rolls, cakes etc tastes gorgeous and I do eat more but I'm eating less sweets, chocs. crisps etc so I figure it balances itself out ;)
I've just read the above and it makes my eating habits sound dreadful  Honest I do eat 'real' food too!
